I forget the name of the football shaped ones but, the company sold a special gun that used a stick feed system that worked almost like a clip for a normal gun. they also sold breach addapter kits that straped onto the side of some guns. these never really took off, most likely do to the price and the pain in the a## it was to reload the clips.

Oh yea I did forget about the littel 52's they went into those littel six shot revolver like guns. they hurt pretty bad to but the range was only about 30 ft.

Safety Paintballs. I got a sales pitch from the maker when they came out. I'll type it up sometime... :)

Lower the limit

I have not looked at the "speak your brains" forum for a long time. Therefore I am sorry I have not posted a reply,

To my knowledge and I might be wrong excluding the indoor there has only been one event held in the UK where a 280fps limit was enforced. This was done to see what effect the reduced limit had on the game. It was sup'air ball and the fields were 5 man. The reaction was mixed.

All the remaining series 2001 and the series 2002 have been run at 300 fps as standard. Yes the 280 was plucked out of the air as a test velocity. There is still no conclusion but all opinions are welcome.

Yes the 300fps was set in America in the early days of paintball.

But in the UK there is another reason, the legal limit in the UK is about 325-335 depending on the weight of a paintball. Above this velocity the marker could be classed as a firearm therefore the limit was set to give a safety margin. It is not a 10% safety margin as the maths is not so simple.

For those who are interested the coroners verdict is on www.ukpsf.com web site.

Cheers

Steve

Keep up the debate.

When it has previously been presented to me it was in a way which implied the UKPSF were going to continue along the 280 path. It seems not.

Thanks for explaination Bully, i hope some of the views here (especially all those long words from Puffy) will help.

What are you talking about when you need a 20 fps buffer so you dont spike? I run my cocker at about 290 and it never spikes over 295. Am I just terribly lucky or something?
Jeeze you brits are crazy.:D
