2005 Millennium Series

Ben

Hopefully we will be signing the contract for the new venue in the next 2 weeks and we will be announcing it immediately. All I can tell you right now is that we are really happy with the new place!!

Nick.

Did you not receive the press release?

the past couple of years the best two events by miles have been toulouse and malaga, i know you were quiet involved in malaga and just out of curiosity i wondered why these two events have been dropped from the schedule. also any chance of one of the five man sanctioned events being in malaga?
cheers

Tolouse and Malaga

Penfold,

We will be back on the beach in Malaga in 2006. The 2004 event went really well but the costs involved were huge due to lower than hoped for team and industry attendance. We just needed a year to get back on track, sort ourselves out and get ready to beat the 2004 tournament. The event went down very well with the local council, general public and local businesses and we have already secured an even better location for 2006.

As for Tolouse, well Laurent and his team are just moving the venue. They have been given a fantastic oppertunity in Paris and I am sure they will blow everyone aaway with their event. Just becuase this event is in Paris doesn't mean it is not going to be up to Laurents ever-excellant standard.

The 5-Man sanctioned events are a work in progress. We will be spending this season developing a system to allow sanctioned events to participate in a new European 5-Man Championship. Our goal is to grade and score results from existing 5-man events and, using the accumulated scoring from over the season calculate and award a 'European 5-man Champion team'. We bring a required standard of quality to the promoters so that teams will know that a Sanctioned event will be at a certain level of quality, the rules will be standardized etc.

Thats the basic outline and, as I said, its a work in progress.

Will this be in effect this season?

Nice to see a Millennium Board Member right here and answering the great unwashed's queries first hand.

I know Mr Scutt very well indeed, I know the passion he has for paintball (he damned well knocks me into a cocked hat on that!) and the hard work he puts into everything he does.

Good luck with the season Andy and the MS. A more open and transparent approach to the customer is essential to the development of the series and this is a great first step.

Now heres my question;

As part of the requirements for each venue can the board ensure that good quality food is available first thing in the morning (like 7am) for teams to purchase?

Frequently hotels do not serve breakfast early enough and nothing else is open.
