Good, Portugal last year was terrible! Although, the psain event being run by the same guy that run Portugal doesnt sound like the most ideal situation.:(
Well the bad weather could not be blamed on Pedro...it should have been antecipated and prepared for but a storm like that was very unusual at that time of year.
And the previous years? Was it that bad? (I'm honestly asking because I only started last year...

So you would prefer to melt in August in Madrid? ;) ;)
If it ends up in madrid I hope they put some public shower to cool off between games ;) Playing Paintball with 40ºC should be fun...NOT!

Tortugal was just plain shabby.
The Promoter gambled that he could get away with cheap poles for the netting, and he lost. He didn't bother to build a site to the Millennium Specifications. There was no security; to combat the mud they put down straw and turned it into a giant farm yard!

The year before was nice, but he had better facilites to work with.

Tortugal was not worth the money last year, and we won't be attending an event promoted by that promoter. We'll spend our money on better run events thanks.

Besides Portugal in april was plenty hot enough, i don't think i would survive a summer event. And i'm not bashing the country, because i think it's very lovely, it's just the tournament was so bad...

Hi Colin,
I agree with you that the major complaint were the netting and security. Extra care should have been put on that. From what I heard bad assembly of the poles was the major problem :(

Believe me , since it was my first attendance at a big event, remembering it as the "Hell (wet but hell al the same) Weekend" is still not a pretty memory...

But concerning you said last: If in Portugal in August , in Lisbon area it reaches 38ºC, in Madrid (approx middle of Spain), usually reaches 48ºC... ;)

Cheers

I know,
that's why it really makes sense to have the event in the winter!
when it's cold in England, Holland, Sweden, and Germany, host an event then!
You'll get plane loads of pasty white skinned English...
yuck!

I'm all in favor of going where the weather suits my summer clothes. Europe, like America, is so big. Why not set the schedule to make it pleasant and worth the travel expense.

I understand Magued's desire to have a vacation in the middle of the summer like most Swedes. But I really like having a tournament in the Nordic countries when the weather is usually perfect and too hot elsewhere. I really don't expect many teams to come to Stockholm in dark, grey or white February. Maybe Oslo or Copenhagen in August? (I vote for Copenhagen!)

I would much prefer going to southwest Europe early in the year or late. Try Canary Islands!

I also remember a cold day or two in Germany.

Let's better optimize the playing schedule!

Go for it! Copenhagen rocks! (My second Scandinavian city after Stockholm. Actually I prefer Copenhagen over Stockholm. If I could just understand what you guys are trying to say when you speak Danish.)
