All in good spirit mind you !

Hey Nick, you are right and for that, I must sincerely apologise.
I had an awful lot of sh#t going on (that still persists) when that proposal hit me as well as a similar idea from another source.
To my shame, I could not respond to either in a postive way as my mind and attention were focussed elsewhere on less wholesome matters.
I suppose I am kinda burnt out in that department and although new ideas and challenges are what drive most of us (as they should do) I was trying to get a little less involved in certain things so as to spend a bit more time with my better half,
(And believe me she is better looking than you).
That aisde, I think if the proposal had hit me say, five years ago, it would have been full-steam ahead and I would have probably tried to get Marcus (Davis) involved somehow but perhaps it's better this way.
All I can do is offer my apologies and wish you the best of luck in whatever venture or aspirations you may have.
Pete

For whats it's worth

I read some of the early post, then got bored and decided to type something.

I didn't like having to turn my back and sit behind the gate, not only because it was a little degrading, but I couldn't watch the outcome of the game. You have to learn from your mistakes, as well as other peoples if your going to be the best.

Maybe Millenniums events shouldn't be regarded as a learning weekend in some of your eyes? However, being only 17 everything is a learning experience in this game for me.

Whatever.......... Maybe you could set up some sort of martial arts tournament to decide who is right??????

Sit down, shut up.
Works fine with me, The only way we can all progress is to act like sportsmen.
If the minority spoil it for the majority, welcome to life.
If you dont get to see your team finish the game, so be it. At least it would be fair for everyone.
The spectators wouldnt have to watch all the bitching and the he did this i did that rubbish that we all seem to carry around.
Play the game, win or lose. Just be fair about it.

Take it back to punter days "The marshall is always right"

Works for me, even on bad calls. Someone has to make the calls and it aint gonna be the players who get to do it.
Take the Marshals decision as just that. Leave the field. Shut up.
If you dont like the marshalling, offer to do it yourself next time, Leave the field, Dont play that event again.

But bitching like kids wont solve a thing but will quite happily destroy our sport.

Grow up, get your heads outa your arses and just play the game and play by the rules.

If thats not possible, Become a pro ;) JK

Just chill, count to ten and respect the fact that a bad call could go either way, so would only ever be bad for 1 team. Next time it could be you on the good side.

I have to disagree with not seeing the game. As a captain, I need to see the game in order to evaluate what everyone is doing right/wrong so I can talk to my team and make corrections for the next game. That is extremely important for any team to be able to correct mistakes. I think watching your team is an essential part of the game.

Just my opinion:)

Train b4 u get there. Walk the fields etc.
Do all that stuff before the game, not after when its too late.

Get a friend on sideline to point out your errors,
If u cant see it, u cant get upset about it.

Well not till later :)

I agree with Chip, being able to evaluate games once the event is over must be one of the most useful tools a team can have. How are we supposed to progress if we don't know what were doing wrong.

Being a novice player, in a novice team means that Millennium events are the hardest competitions i'm going to get for the next couple of years. If all I can do is look at my own mistakes that road to glory is going to become much longer.

There seems to be this stereotypical view that all teams get upset by a bad call. The only teams I have ever seen lose it are the pro's, because there is alot more at stake for them.

A pro team playing a Millennium event have lots of outgoings. For a start there entry is almost double that of a novices. The yanks need to pay more in flights, plus there hotel bills, food, and stuff on site. I think if I had travelled half way around the world to be 1-4-1, or have someone wipe on me i'd be a little upset too.

I'm not saying that there actions are acceptable, but they have more reason to get upset.

Personally I want to see the outcome of the game. I want to understand the good and bad points so I don't make those mistakes again. If I get a bad call so be it, i'm in no position to tell the marshal how to do his job.

My opinion:)
