Op, dont be silly. I would predict a firearms offence of some discription. Enjoy jail time.

Not that im against using force to defend yourself, but its reasonable force needed. To stop someone, you would need to light them up with a fair few paintballs . . maybe a hoppers worth if your ramping it in a fit of rage . . what if you hit their eyes??

I feel bad for anyone who attempts to gain entry into my house under the premise of stealing from me or harming my family...I really do.

To the OP; don't shoot your paintball marker at anyones face...you'll go to jail.

If you choose to go after an intruder with a weapon, you have to be able to prove afterwards that the weapon was not stashed under your bed for the purposes of bashing an intruder, as that becomes pre-meditated, as in you've thought of it, and then stashed the weapon to facilitate it.

If you have a ninja sword under your bed, to defend your home, and you stab someone, you go to jail. If you have ceremonial swords displayed on the wall of your bedroom permanently, as an ornament, then you have a reason for them to be there and can show that you only reached for it out of need. You can have a hammer lying around due to DIY jobs, so thats good too. but if you have a 2x4 with a mail sticking out of it, or a baseball bat, yet don't play baseball at all, then a scumbag lawyer would make that stick, as you have the bat there for the purpose of beating an intruder, which means you planned it, which makes it pre-meditated.
A heavy lamp is waht the police suggest round here. No-one can touch you if you bash someone in with a heavy lamp...

A few years ago a couple of little scroats broke into Diablo in brighton and Jeff, who was staying there at the time shot them both, the police didnt seem to care, and neither did the press who put it in the local paper! Think they considered it to be non lethal force.

Yeah yeah, you're a badass...
Tuff talk is just that, tuff talk. For all you know, you may well be asleep at the moment it happens.

What about A heavy lamp with a nail through it?
You could claim to be really bad at DIY.

Genius, or failing that, an ornamental baseball-lamp.

I wouldn't go charging out there under any circumstances though. I would make a lot of noise, scare them off, and then file a whopping claim. I can always put the word out later-on and have them done-in without having to explain anything to the law...

I have been burgled twice while I have been in the house. One time I slept all the way through it, and the next time I woke up as by bedroom door opened and I saw a stranger standing there. We both shat ourselves, he ran, and by the time I put my pants on he was pegging it down the street and I had no chance of catching him. At no point did I think 'now where's my ornamental lamp....'
