Thinking of changing my broadband. My mate who lives down the street is on Orange, and he says it's pretty good. Is anyone else on Orange and would they reccommend it?

Thanks!

Used to use Orange for years when in France, never had an issue.
Still using it for mobile phone ... :)

Orange is part of French Telecom company.

Was with Orange for about a year and a half beginning about 2 and years ago (until I moved house).

Started off wonderfully, first month was fine, then their router started to have issues, and was replaced.
Not long after this I started to find the connection would go off for a day or so at a time.
Eventually this dropped off totally, and I went for 7 WEEKS without a connection. Spent hours on the phone to India asking to be put through to the escalation department who were in the UK and were actually fairly good. (Mainly because they'd been trained to deal with the poor sod who hasn't got any internet)
Engineers seemed unable to fix the problem, and after a month of no connection and constant promises to get it fixed quickly I looked for another supplier. Finding that it would take a month to get a new connection in whereever I went I eventually made the decision to leave, gave the notice, and shazam the internet came back on!

From that point forward I had 2 new routers but fairly good speeds...

Virgins cable or fibre optic broadband is the best product you can buy imo. Had cable broadband for years with no issues and pretty much no "busy" periods like you get with a phone line broadband.

No fibre in Wales at the moment... as soon as there is I'm straight on it.
