I think some of you are getting confused ..... Christmas plays host to many differing expressions of human endeavour.
A lot of you have mentioned the things we do treasure about Xmas and these tend to focus on the family environment, which of course is one of the good things concerning Xmas.
However, Xmas is also a time when we are inundated with its commercialisation whereby an avalanche of advertising is upon us.
Personally, I can't look at TV now without feeling sick to my gut most of the time because of the amount and frequency of the ads.
Sky TV seems to me to be the main culprit here because they have completely lost sight of why people watch TV.
Xmas brings out the worst in these TV companies but to understand things a little better we must replace 'Xmas' in this context, with 'greed'.
Companies pay to have their products placed before us at every opportunity they can, there is no thought for the viewer, only for the money to be made by both parties in this ungodly partnership.
We can all enjoy the family at Xmas time, at the same time, we can abhor the commercialisation of this celebration which has now lost all connection with morality or reason.
