So? It's an excuse to get together with family and friends. I'm not really fussed about getting presents, I like having time off to enjoy with my entourage. Where's the harm?

I have to say that whilst I find the commercialisation of Christmas very annoying I also think that it is a personal choice as to how you celebrate it.
And lets face it, its a religious festival (Bon - Peace and Goodwill and all that) so if you don't embrace that then you have no business participating anyway. Granted, it is the wrong time of year and time to replace a pagan festival but the point remains the same, time to wind down a bit and enjoy friends and family.
Last point, I watch a bit of TV and havent seen too much Christmas stuff yet - unless of course you watch crappy shopping channels!
