as i didn,t go to this event due to work on site, but reading the posts sent in i can only say i make know wonder that tournament paintball is failing.the attitude of players is getting worse especially with the so called pro teams, who the hell do they think they are, should the paintball industry give a sh*t about them as they generate very little business, maybe the feds which consists of alot of guys that are in the paintball industry should concentrate on the scenario and woodland side of paintball which is expanding, these guys spend double what a tournie player does and they don,t ask for freebies, what example are we setting too new teams, that being an arse is ok,we hope to be recognised as a sport but if we cannot behave in a proper manor what chance have we.the refs i have been on their side of the field with some of the best refs in the country ( uk refs) unfortunately these guys where flying out to the states on sunday so could not attend, but i believe that the guys that reffed did their utmost to be far and unbiased, maybe some off these guys where abit green but you all have to start somewhere and the bitching and moaning is not going to bring more refs and more experianced ones into the game as they are all going to say balls to this.ROBBO what more can be said the guy is passionate about paintball and if somebody takes the piss then he is going to kick thier ass, maybe not always in the right way but atleast you guys know he cares and same for the rest of the feds.so maybe us the players need too look at ourselves and say do we deserve what these guys are trying too do for us and maybe we should change our attitudes, yes we are thier customers but should they put up with arrogant players.so in full should the feds implement a respect campaign where players have to act in a certain manor but have a person to hand thier complaints in on the day that can be acted on at future events
You never cease to amaze me, Biscuit my old pal.
I'll read the 2nd half of your post once my eyes stop watering and my headache goes away.

People have to realise that the refs arent going to make a call unless they have a reason to.
I got a bad call in the final, but I can see why the ref made it. The call made in the last point (of the final) which pissed off shock was because there was old paint which hadnt been cleaned off well enough. Not touching the start gate, making sure to get a check even if you aren't sure, I (and im sure the refs) could go on.

A good number of the penalties I saw were actually because the teams/players havent done themselves any favours and have given the refs reason to penalise them.

I hope for everybodies sakes the refs dont give up, I know I dont want to do it, not many do, and they'd probably do a better job than 90% of us anyway, so give them a break, or you'll not be able to play anyway as self marshalling certainly wouldnt work ;)

I liked biscuit's post a lot,but I would ask not to generalize tournie players as people who ask for stuff, because I've worked for every penny I own and I goes straight into paintball I cant even afford a mobile after mine broke cos my ash goes to paint and geenfees :D I know hardely any tournament players if any who wants stuff for free.

also I'm pretty sure every event that had a first time wasn't even CLOSE to this fed cup it felt like it had been ging for a while rather tha a first attempt and the reffing hasn't swayed me one bit from looking forward to the next one maybe I'll get to shake robbs hand AGAIN I stall havn't washed them yet hehe :D

You can be glad the I wasn't reffing. Sorry, but if someone had threatened me with physicals I'd have **** kicked every one of them across to the car park. Then i'd have left you to ref your own games.

You people should be ashamed of yourselves. If the Fed decided not to put an event on next year I couldn't blame them.

Maybe the so called Professional players think they are owed something, perhaps they are too good to play on an imperfect piece of land?? catch a ****ing grip of yourselves

I've had bad calls from Ref's and yes I haven't been happy but i have NEVER threatened a ref in my life. For every bad call there are 100 good ones which are never mentioned.

YOU are the people killing tourny ball, and you deserve everything you get.

Top Post Dusty, I can't even imagine the restraint a grown man would need to get shot-up all day, and then have some punk actually threaten them with violence.
I would wake up in jail wondering how I got there.

How about getting refs that are good at their jobs/can handle pressure/don't lose thier head/don't use a shield.

That would be me, then.

As per my previous post, I would be happy to run a ref course.

May I suggest that, at the next Fed event, each team provides a ref as they did at Bully's old events?

This will let them see the other side of the coin.

:)

The thing people seem to forget. Is these Pro's have alot to loose in the way of Sponsorship, They are there to win. They need high quality refs. The attitude doesn't help, but it isn't the problem. I've only seen a few teams in the Mill's from SPL and CPL loose there temper. Thats over 6 years. The reffing is constantly high. I understand they have to have a "pro" attitude. But lets look at football for a minute. There are decisions that are over turned from the ref's on the day of the match by the FA. Every one has reffed in paintball, at some point in there career. The point being you were ment to have the best in the UK, (Tigers and Nexus not being there, the cream of UK ball) So you would think for the calibure of this event you would have the best ref's.

UK paintball is on the up. The Masters is amazing and so is the NSPL. You want more series? Why? This will only devide UK paintball further.

Look at Nexus. The team to beat. Best in Europe in my opion. Disruption, Winning the Millenium Shield, and Tigers coming 2nd.

Remmber guys paintball is 98% internet smack talk, and 2% playing.
