Pete from Shock is right. The reffing was terrible. no two ways. People always whine about the reffing to a degree. I know this. But when you have so many top teams, and players. Saying the same thing. We you can just sweep this under the carpet. The Ulitmate of the xball field often lost it. he had no control over what he was doing. Nick from the Nspl marshalls the div1 games. he gets whinned at some time's. But hes very good. calm, collected and never losses his temper. So why didn't we have him instead?
There is an issue here. A major one. And for the head of the Federation to say he doesn't care? How can teams at the top of Uk paintball say they want to come back and play?

As for the Southern team's being there. We'll it was hardly in the middle between the north and south. There's also a recession on.

There was a lot of good from the event. It's come along way. But the reffing was terrible, the worst i have ever seen.
The worst you have ever seen - either you are blind or have had limited paintball experience. The more I read the more I believe you guys came up to Ancaster with preconceived ideas that the refs would be biased to the northern teams and therefore any decision that went against you was of deliberate intent.
I have no idea why Nick from the NSPL was not there, but reversing your logic, would it be that you wanted him there because he would have been more favourable to you.

you all need to stop giving the reffs so much stick, they tried their best, what more could you ask for? bad calls happen, and theres no stopping that. especially on sunday the reffs must have been absolutly shattered after running around all day on saturday doing their jobs. so maybe more bad calls were called but hey, it happens:)

Dark Warrior. Read what I said about why I would have rather had Nick. I have said nothing about being biase. Sure I have limited expereince, but I am the best blind uk player. That comment is rash and has only made you look foolish.
I am not the only one complaining about the reffs here. So wind your neck back in.
Thanks.

Robbo, for a person that is one of the faces of this 'change' in paintball your being unproffesional and childish refusing to see it from the players side. It would be beneficial to everyone If you just grew up. I know you don't care about what we have to say and you've made that obvious but like you I have to get my point out.

.
And you have done what for paintball?
I don't believe I know you or any of your achievements in our sport and there are two possibilities to explain that .. either they have slipped past my attention or you've done diddly squat.

I am gonna take a wild stab in the dark that it's the latter, and the reason I bring this up is because you have had the audacity to call me 'unprofessional' .. you do not have the standing in this game to describe me as that.
I have worked on this BECAUSE I see it from the player's side you buffoon, it's just that I refuse to see it from the side of a wingeing, bitching old pro that has done nothing but cheat for the entirety of his playing career and tells everybody in one post he is pulling from the Fed series after one event but ends his post by suggesting we need to work together .... didn't ya spot the moronic irony in that or did it just pass you by .... like a lot of things in life seemingly have?

Tournament paintball is about tournament players not pros, the vast majority of people enjoyed the event and have gone on record in saying so, is it any co-incidence that the pros are the ones causing the problems once again..... I don't think so somehow.

How about getting refs that are good at their jobs/can handle pressure/don't lose thier head/don't use a shield. Remember that they get paid for this. Like randy said the top 4 teams all had major issues with reffing, that's got to be more than just coincidence, we were all let down here

All you people do is complain and moan how about all you who moan go and ref and put up with the crap we get also i bet you make mistakes and are not 100% consistant. I would like to thank the teams as most were great to ref. But when all you people do is complain moan about us it makes me think Why should i bother ? i dont ref for people to come and complain i ref so people can play the sport, how about you do self reffing

Maybe i shouldnt ref next year. Maybe if all ref's thought that, you lot wouldnt have any Tourneys, then you would moan there isn't any.

xball Floor ref (with protos ) seriously considering if reffing is worth while !

To state that the reffing at this event was the worst you have ever seen is inflammatory and I do not agree with you. Is that nice enough for you?

A recession on? Yes there is but there is still plenty of work out there if you look for it. I'm a self employed plasterer and work has been hard of late but doing other jobs outside my trade has made me just about survive and also do CC, Super5ives last week and Fed Cup this weekend, so I don't really see that as an excuse. I'm sure if players posted on the NSPL forums you could of got at least a couple of scratch teams up for it.
As for Nick ultimating an X-Ball field at that level with TOP pro teams, I don't think so. I love Nick dearly and he knows I speak my mind and say what I think is true as he used to phone me and talk about things often. I know he won't take offence to my thoughts. Give Nick a year reffing at this level and he will be there with the best.
Do we really have to keep knocking the refs or the weekend cause it's the same crap and getting boring. We need constructive stuff to make it a success in the future :)

Reading through all of the negative posts kinda makes me annoyed. Before you knock the compition ask yourself these TWO questions...

. Does it matter who came where ?-NO
. Does it matter that there may have been some "bad" calls ?-NO

If you answerd yes to any of these then you are selfish and do not want to see the UK paintball scene grow. It shouldnt matter if the event was a gret success or a complete failure (Not implying either) the point of this event was to try and help paintball recover. Im sure in future events the so called negatives may improve,if they dont?,then so what! Its bringing teams from all over the UK which surely is a acheivment in some respects. I didnt go to it ,i am only basing my opinion on on feedback given so it may not be my place to say anything.
