1) You have a very good line of communication with the MS: Your feet and your wallet.
2) Absolutely true, but the problem is that in the current climate, it is impossible to put on the sort of events as the Toulouse of yesteryear. The money just ain't there, there are fewer teams, fewer vendors, so less money for the promoters. And less money to fluff up an event. I imagine that there is only money to run a basic event, just games, nothing more.
Shame really, as I did love those all singing, all dancing events. But we have to face economic realities.

2) yeah but putting up prices and doing an event when they know that they turn out is going to be a a disgrace (ie turkey) and trying to sweeten the deal by offering a bigger prize is a bit of a joke.
I have to agree, i was there Saturday and Sunday. On the Saturday purchased a bottle of water from a vendor for £1.50. Thought well can't grumble, it's not breaking the bank i guess. Go back Sunday to the SAME vendor for the SAME bottle of water and i'm asked to fork out £2.50. Now i don't know if i'm the only one who had a feeling the lack of pricing on items led to a "sell at vendors discretion" type of thing, but i had a few things to say to this vendor which he wasn't happy about. I "persuaded" him that £1.50 was the correct price but my mate was also charged £2.00 for another bottle of water and guess what, it was the SAME one

It is not up to the Millenium staff to dictate exact prices, but as suggested before something should be done, no pricing meant the vendor charged you on how you looked..I watched a lot of the balling on all the fields over the two days and didn't notice much that was severely bad reffing, but there were definately a few issues that should be addressed in the reffing on the M5 and Div fields. Not all the refs were bad, but the odd call that was made i know i wasn't the only one in the crowd feeling it was completely the wrong decision.
I felt the venue was not that bad to be honest and the event was well signposted etc. making it easy to get there. Overall i had a good time to be honest, after all it's balling isn't it?

The thing is that I fully agree that all food and drinks were hideously overpriced. I just don't put the blame on the MS, I don't see it as their responsibility, after all, they don't tell the other vendors at what prices to sell their paint.
Though it might be a good plan if they had food sellers from different companies, so that perhaps the competition could drive prices down. I noticed that most, if not all people selling foor were from one and the same organisation. Now they had a sort of monopoly, as there was no other place to get food within walking distance. In that sense perhaps you could put some of the blame on the MS.
Anyhow, one thing for which I think the people running this little shindig should be publicly humiliated, is the toilets... I'd bring it up, but I think I might throw up.
Don't worry, didn't take it as a dig. But to answer your point, why do you think I don't play anymore? I voted with my feet and wallet. I understand there is no real alternative at the mo, but I'm pretty sure that if the MS were to keel over and die, there would be something else in its place real soon. After all, there have been things happening in the east and I'm sure there are others who'd be willing to take the leap if the MS were out of the equation.
As for point 2, believe me, I'm not sticking up for the MS. I see loads of amateurish things happening that I think are ridiculous and again, that's one of the reasons I don't play.
I just felt that some of the stuff being thrown at the MS in this thread was undeserved and I would rather see people throw the stuff that the MS is accountable for. That way it would hurt more. I bet it would suck to have one of those disgusting porta-loos thrown on you for example.
By the way, this thread delivers. It reminds me of threads we used to have in here. All that's missing is Brockdorff telling us all we're wrong. (sorry Nick, just a joke)

Yes, but if millennium wanted a decent event and wanted to please their customers, this sort of stuff would be in their interests.
Well i have to say i enjoyed this event.
This was Team Rampages first Major event entered, we entered more for the experiance than anything else.
We played M5 and managed 1 draw and 2 wins on the first day, went into group B on the second day and managed to win 4 out of 5, this then put us into the Final play off's.
Playing Ratz & JCS Academy..
Played JCS First and managed a win with a 3ed.
Played Ratz and got our asses handed to us on a plate, long story and only time of all the event when we felt let down by the marshalling.
All three teams in the group won one each and final ended as follows
1st Ratz
2nd JCS
3rd Rampage.
So as you can guess for a team that only started 2009 in the NSPL Div4, i am feeling chuffed to bits...
Ohhh and the bonus was three UK teams..
What did i feel was the let down..
Not enough trade stands, Over priced Food <-- But this was an option you could avoid if you wanted to pop to the local shops.
Being stuck on the M25 and taking 7hrs to finally get there, damn inconsiderate Truck Drivers Crashing between Junction 23-25.
Finally the Fact Dye Didn't have an NT Behind the counter to hand out to be held, i mean come on guess have a little faith in ballers its not like you can't have someone watch over a potential buyer that wants to possibly buy one.
On the brighter note planet did let me walk around with the SL94 so i could get the feel for my new arriving shortly toy..
