With regards to playing those teams, perhaps they should look at playing the uk tournies that are available! We can only hope to nationalise the sport if everyone works together!

In otherwords they should come to you? Thats actually fairly arrogant.

as do i, and every week i end up in some random feild. that some one has found. on a hill covered in stones. 6 inches of water. covered in cow DooDoo
and yet i pay full whack. no one sponsors me ! and yet here we are looking at the event where sponsors should be getting there money back. and players playing on the highest profile pitch ever put on in England.
I realise that lump, however perhaps your personal funding exceeds the average person who trys to play as reguarly as possible!

Even those who work full time often struggle to dedicate enough time and money to a sport that is comparatively expensive!

Thats not what i said at all......... I travel every month to the northern masters from essex to play against any and all teams that are playing!

If they are not playing that tournie is doesnt bother me if they are there or not, in fact it seemed fairly arrogant to say we should want to play them!

that is spot on.

also to keep tournament paintball alive it needs a solid base built at regular events which is being done at the nspl and masters. The teams are doing the correct thing by playing these events and if they dont have the cash to play one offs then perhaps balls out need to look at what they are doing.

From little acorns do oak trees grow or something like that.

lump's got it spot on with that analogy

these tournament series are like fully grown oaks - they are established.
but they are pretty much in-house - they don't really draw in new people. they produce no acorns.

a big showcase event is what will make the wider public see the sports side of paintball - showing it has a tournament side, and not just a bunch of rambos playing soldiers in the woods.....which even us scenario teams aren't really - it's just the public's preception, and one that needs changed.

if you want to help with that change, then it's exposure like this that will do that.

The point is that although these series are established as individual events, they are only in the early stages of becoming one nationwide combination, to provide a stable base for the tournament scene in the uk!

Its not that we disagree with what is trying to be done at the event, however it shows why it is not getting the support from more teams in the uk!

it is with the increase of team numbers at these events they seem to be growing. continuity is essential for it to grow even if its slow.
I would disagree with that as you are limiting yourself to the paintballing community, with the likes of Balls Out organising an event in Blackpool the public exposure will be huge, and given that Blackpool is one of the most popular stag night destinations in the UK you are also showcasing to your target audience too.

It does seem a shame, but maybe its just bad timing and definately not in a great location for the majority of UK teams!
how can the first weekend in august, in blackpool, on the promanarde be a negotive thing, you can tell you didnt see the effort of balls out at the west mids show it was eeeemmmmense. bad timing campaign is a further 7 weeks away, i guess too many people are content with there clicks and being big fish in tiny ponds and dont really care about the future of our sport or about bettering them selves as players, but just sit here on the forums and chat crap about what to do and how we should do this and that when it is here on a plate for you now, that is shown by the fact there is still places availabe for this event

sort your selfs out and get on it !!!
