err - perhaps I should have said German Politicians, but I'm sure most people got the humour.Poland's pretty safe - Paintball guns fall under the category of air rifles over here and as long as a paintball shot out of a marker doesn't have more than a certain amount of kinetic energy (which it doesn't with a properly set up marker) it's legal. We were fortunate enough to have a sympathetic parliament representative on our side when they were doing some major changes to the gun law about 10 years ago - before that you had to have a gun licence to own a marker.
I think you'll find that we were lucky to have Steve Bull & the UKPSF on the case, especially in the last round of changes 3 years ago, when they clamped down on the Airsofters.
We need to show ourselves in the best light possible and by getting behind the Maxs Masters is a good way of doing that. Even if people aren't playing, the more spectators we have the more impressive and professional it will look. The fact that the idiots who cause issues are not generally from the Tourney or Scenario scene is not important - when they see a large number of people gathered acting professionally they will believe that what they are seeing is indeed PAINTBALL and it will be generalised to some extent in their heads.
The politicians are doing exactly what they did with Dumblane, here in the UK. A tragic event that involved a psycho with guns - instead of doing something about the failings of the authorities at the time who were informed the guy was unstable - they ban hand guns.
Michael Ryan (Hungerford) was another example of lunacy - he wen't looney with an AK and back then then they banned automatics (well anything capable of holding 2 rounds and one in the breach).
The German government had something like this happen before when a K Cylinder incident injured (or killed??) someone on a site. Again Bully and Co were there working with our Euro colleagues.
If they get their way then unfortunately it will be a matter of - "Ein befehl ist ein befehl" (forgive my spelling my German friends) but we have the opportunity here to make a stand.
