I think sending feedback to the editor of a paper which covers paintball in a negative light is a very dangerous thing to do - if you are writing to them, be careful

Right now we should be giving them NO ammunition to throw at paintball - at Bitburg, like Spike said, everyone should be golden, show them what a great show we can pull off etc. Any mishaps will get pounced on by press, we will be centre stage

We are pawns in a system, and the easier route instead of fighting it in this case - I would have thought - would be to play it and beat it at it's own game

This has the potential of a good piece of PR - but its the smallest of things which portray us in a bad light which will be noticed most
Der Spiegel has not covered paintball in a bad light.
The report is quite a factual and balanced report typical of this particular publication.
Politicians do not respond to people presenting themselves in a kindly responsible and caring manner, they respond to voters letting it be known that they will vote with their feet.
Not a lot we can do on that front but I advise all German voters to lobby your politicians and yes if you feel you are articulate enough to present an intelligent argument, write to the press! Have your say and make your voice heard! It's too late to hide, they've found us already!

update:

again, it is a roller coaster in terms of good and bad news. the morning started pretty good with the news that the social democrats are saying the paintball ban is no topic any more and that the government needs to take a closer look what paintball is all about. many repetitive news in that manor. the German pb community thought we made big progress in avoiding a ban. everyone was relieved but of course we didn't gave all-clear.

in the evening news arose that both parties in the great coalition are still discordant on the law and how it will be exposed. christ democrats were stating that nothing is decided yet and that they will stick to their proposal of banning paintball. it's not over yet. :(

again we need to work even harder and even preciser. we really do our best, so please do not stop supporting us. many thanks
