im not sure if anyone heard this 2day but i listened to it by chance, but a bbc radio 2 show covered this subject. it is about 34 - 35mins into the show.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00kbgbx/Jeremy_Vine_11_05_2009/

i dont believe anyone pointed out that the people that make paintball look bad and cuase injury and suffering to others are either off the street customers to sites or people that pick up cheep guns form places and dont know the dangers involved although all the bad incidents that the show mentioned not one was on a site! its not people that are into the sport who will lose a keen interest if like usual goverments jump on the latest vote grabbing fad to fly in.

i maybe wrong in wot i say but its how i look at it

Ive never heard some much bullshi!t in my life! (from the german of course)
Bully was right, the obvious cause of this is the 'real' gun issue.

Surely before something like paintballing is banned there should be a ban on 'real' firearms. Meaning gunclubs etc.

Its really rattled my cage listening to that! I mean, did this kid even play paintball?! Im not 100% on the facts but i havent heard anything saying that he did. In which case paintball/lazertag has absolutly nothing to do with this kid who was obviosuly just tapped!

The ONLY reason the ban has happened is because the german government wants to look as tho its doing something. A ban on firearms would cause a massive uproar and piss a hell of a lot more people off, so theyve taken the easy way and done this, without thinking of the livleyhood of site owners etc. And also the amount of people who enjoy paintball as a sport and do it safely, who have now lost a load of money in kit they can no longer use and a hobby they enjoy!

Just my 2ps worth.

In my opinion it would be a good show of solidarity between ballers if we all rally to this event and make it a big spectacle, thus making the politicians take note. The bigger this event, the bigger dent we can make in the stupidity of this action and stand up for our sport. If we let the politicians win this one - next it will be Poland!
Poland's pretty safe - Paintball guns fall under the category of air rifles over here and as long as a paintball shot out of a marker doesn't have more than a certain amount of kinetic energy (which it doesn't with a properly set up marker) it's legal. We were fortunate enough to have a sympathetic parliament representative on our side when they were doing some major changes to the gun law about 10 years ago - before that you had to have a gun licence to own a marker.

Great video, great effort made by Kitty.
The paintball community needs to work together, support each other, help new players understand.
What we dont need is bad attitude that will harm the sport, idiots who will do certain things for a laugh, in turn will look bad in the eyes of the public, or potentially drive away new players.
