Has The PLANET Gone Mad ??????

Thanks for correcting me

out of interest, why are the dye products on the dye website more expensive??
I would guess because Dye prefer to deal with businesses rather than individuals. Its pretty common in many industries. Saves them a headache.
True to an extent but it is nothing about headaches.
We do not compete on price with our dealers because retail stores are essential to this industry. DYE have been working closely with our stores for a long time to make sure we do whatever we can for them to help their businesses. Everything we do is through our dealers and they are at the forefront of any decisions we make, including pricing.

Within my job i currently purchase alot of raw material from abroad and the uk market, now what i have found recently is that i am buying alot more material from the uk suppliers mainly due to the facts of the ever changing euro and dollar.

I will give you an example, one plastic material i was buying in ton lots from belguim that was being imported to them from america used to cost me in total £1746 uk pounds shipped, now they want £2537 shipped. :D.

I would say that to start bringing this country to what it used to be more uk companies should buy British giving our own economy a boost.

I Will also add that putting stuff up by nearly 50% is a tad over the top unless planet have been taking the brunt of this slump for some time now.

So guys what i will hazard a guess at, the the marker you currently own and just change to follow a trend, will be staying with you for alot longer until such times as market place gets back on its feet again.

On the bright side, does this mean I can sell my almost new GEO and make a couple of hundred quid on it :D

This just seems crazy - I was going to sell my sl8r to upgrade to the new sl, but now it will cost the same again after a sale to upgrade to something that isn't that much better.

How does a 20% fall in the price of sterling in relation to the dollar result in a 40% price increase of a marker? No one can tell me that material prices for markers has gone up that much to warrant that kind of increase.

Planet need to do a press release or something, because they can't just hike up prices without explaining it. Either there's been a mistake (seemingly not) or they better explain what the hell's going on.

I agree Dev.....its not a few quid they can just sneak past everyone. It's like going into Costa and a sandwich and a drink is now £100 rather than a reasonable rounded £70.

Alot of people seem outraged at this perfectly reasonable thing to do. I'm sure one of them will comment on this thread but in the current climate etc its been nice that they havn't raised prices before.

Many industries have price increases on new models (e.g. cars) or yearly hikes (e.g. watches).

I'm not looking for an answer but just have a think: were you about to buy one? If so then it sucks for you as some people will have got a far better deal and no doubt 2nd hand prices will go up. It would be cool to have a sellers market for once.

Its already been highlighted here.

The pound has been loosing ground to the euro and doller, the economic climate is doing the opposite to the weather and in this new financial year Eclipse have put up there prices. Maybe there is a mistake but I wouldn't bank on it.

Just a quick note Angel A1's are £439.45
Toms point is very good, if you're unable to buy the latest SL then simply don't buy it. Buy an angel :)
