hey
i am currently in the middle of doing my duke of edinburgh award and i have to complele three months of a physical activity. obviously my first choice was paintball but apparently im not allowed to do this because
after awaiting contact from d of e head offfice i was told that as paintball was classed as a target sport it would not meet the criteria of the award.
i asked what exactly a target sport was and why it does not meet the critera for the physical section of the award and got this answer
"The theme of Paintballing is aiming at a target (person)."
although this is true the point of the section is to take part in physical activity. things such as: Tenpin Bowling, Carpet Bowling, Crown Green Bowls, Croquet.
these are accepted as physical recreation but all of themtake very little energy to perform and its very likely that more energy is exerted in a breakout than in a whole game of the ones above.
any thoughts?
thanks
sam
