That sounds ace, definatly somewhere central to make it easier for those of us in the extremities of the country tho! As for £10 entry cost, considering the work involved in organising something like this a tenner is nothing. If you gonna argue about paying 10 quid to get into something like this why exactly are you playing paintball? Did you not notice the cost involved in playing?
Robbo's comment about somewhere with residence options is also a definate plus, although obviously hotels are do-able surely having everything on site is a bonus.

At the event I had a long chat with Robbo and we bounced the idea of a similar event for players. So would you be interested in a one day event (no idea when or where yet) along the following lines.

• Trade stands representing the retail outlets in the paintball world
• Associated trade stands who could offer services to players.
• Select speakers from the world of paintball (UK and possibly the USA)
• Tech classes from the main marker suppliers
• Open forum like “Question Time”
• Chance to socialise with other players in the bar rather than at a paintball site
• Maybe approach some of the “gaming industry” to show their wares

This is just a few ideas to start the ball rolling.

Obviously this type of event does not come for FREE but with careful planning and support from the industry I think a modest entry fee for the day event of say £10 is realistic.

These are ideas to start the debate so please post your ideas

yea once you click post tho its a done deal. :D

what would be good tho is say have a tech center for each brand of marker or if possible aftermarket baord manufacurers so you can get your software updates done on the day? if not everyone then maybe someone who can do this on behalf of the vendors.

I'd definitely attend something like this.... I hope that's not a non-incentive! :p

Great idea.

Funny you should say that, because I have been playing since 1987, when it was £120.00 for one box of paint and 50p for the c02 cartridge to gas the marker, so I'll leave you to do the maths on the cost of a days play.

However a players conference where the player has to pay to attend, one can't help but feel it's another fleecing opportunity.

Why should the player pay when there are going to Trade Stands there, surely it's in the interests of the trade stands to ensure players are there so they can generate revenue from the players attending.

Why not just have an open house and have a players area while the UKSPF conference is on, then everyone gets to mix and exchange ideas and thoughts.

And before I get dragged out and shot at dawn, this is just my opinion, if it goes ahead good luck with it.

as nothing in this world is free and if we did not pay then the people that will have set up the event will have a finacial problem.if we didnt pay then this would not happen again, for it to be a repeat event then it needs to (not necessarly make huge profit) but to make small margins or at least brake even. i was thinkg £10 is quite reasonable. :)

also there would need to be catering :)
