I'd rather do the Kinks...

'Thankyou for the days'

...it's more in my register.

Great to see Matt posting though. I've watched every episode of the Tudors, but I've yet to see him make an appearance. WTF?

That's because he likes to remain in the background ....watching ....... always watching ...... and then ... he pounces .... usually with, ' I told you so' in that Coronation St' accent of his ....quite unnerving really.

Without meaning to take the thread off on a tangent, however....

Where do the rumours of Shawn Walker setting up a league in place of the NPPL (apparently learning from their mistakes?) fit into all of this?
I haven't heard that but you must remember Shawn had the pretty successful XPSL league before he threw his lot in with Bruce and Pacific Paintball.
I think the difference between running the XPSL and the NPPL soon became apparent when Shawn tried to navigate his way through the politics of running a major league that was for all intents and purposes, running in competition with the PSP.

In my opinion, and with no disrespect intended, Shawn did not possess the necessary people skills to be able to deal with the personalities involved at the top end of our sport.
This basically includes team owners but more importantly industry guys who were potential supporters, vendors and / or sponsors.

The problem is, they are sometimes interconnected and if you pi$s off a team, you sometimes pis$ off its owner which then sometimes ripples across the sponsor portfolio .... it was not an easy job for sure.

As time went on, and it became clear the losses encountered from one event to the other weren't gonna turn around, the die was cast and Shawn had to go.
But the damage had already been done it seems.

I think we will see Shawn again but maybe not in any major role.

As for Bruce?
Our industry needed him, it seems he didn't need us

Just found this in Emoney's website blog-

NPPL bankrupt? What does paintball do now?

Not to worry paintball field owners! Shawn Walker already has a new league formed that will save the day. Best of all I’m one of the main sponsors! Why you ask? Well this new league is going to rebuild the player base and Shawn is taking all the mistakes that the NPPL made and not make them! Best of all there will be a True Beginner division that will cultivate and help the real beginner. I have so many things to tell you about this league but it’s still top secret for now. But rest assured I will give you all the scoop once the ink dries as they say. Stay tuned.

I just saw this little gem in the post you link to :-

'and Shawn is taking all the mistakes that the NPPL made and not make them'!

Oh my, I just love the sloping of the shoulders and letting the blame slide over to the 'NPPL' ...... that made me laugh out loud when I read that.

Come to think of it, if you take that quote above, lop off 'and not make them' from the end and replace the 't' in taking with an 'm', you might get closer to the truth.

If they were to collapse then of course it wouldn't be good but I can see no reason why they should, in fact, the demise of the NPPL makes them stronger.
