OK, this thread is gonna be all about doing what the Millennium guys shoulda done a long time ago and that is to ask you guys, 'what improvements can be made to the Millennium series'?
I don't want this to descend into an ugly slagging match because it serves no purpose whatsoever but I do want sensible suggestions based upon what people have encountered when playing or attending these events.

And so - I'll kick off by suggesting ..........I think some of you might know what's coming :)

GET RID OF ulrich von klinkerhoffen !!!!!!!!

A reduction in entry fee's!!

Putting the Toulouse leg of the millennium back in the stadium(ramonville) where it belongs some of the best euro-ball was played at that venue.

the addition of a transfer window / system, to locked div's
Jus, I think we need to get rid of the locked divisions altogether mate if we want to get anywhere near the atmospheres of 'old' which Jimmy (Sponge10) has just touched upon those when he mentioned the Toulouse event played in Ramonville.
But.....in locking the leagues down and with the Millennium then imposing charges like name change fees, ownership change fees etc, this created a 100,000 Euro income stream for them and may well go some way in explaining their resistance to giving up on locked leagues.

Now, if we focus on what we know to be good for the customer (both player and vendor) and for paintball at large, then all the advice we subsequently give to the Millennium guys in this thread can only be received (hopefully) with good heart.
After all, we all want the same thing here don't we?????

Coz if we don't - then something is seriously, seriously wrong ......

Having the whole Millennium NON PROFIT making.

Stop increasing our entrance fees to pay their wages!! The events have not got better to justify the raise.
Return to paying fees in instalments. Expecting teams to front multiple thousands of euros so soon after xmas etc is unreasonable.

Increase the prize package, even if you win an event / series you can not cover your costs. Paintball is a very expensive sport, especially with regular training and and Millennium events.

Stop using garden centre turf in 1m by 10 strips. The amount of trip hazards is ridiculous. How health and safety lets them get away with it is amazing. how about making your own XL turf!

Have morning and afternoon sets of marshals. that job is very difficult and expecting them to continually make correct calls when they are exhausted is unfair.

Send Ulrich to organise snow flakes in the Antarctic. The millennium needs a friendly and reasonable face and he is certainly not it!!!!!!

Remove the ruling that allows a ref to 4-4-1 a back corner runner who gets hit on his way out but slides in and asks for a hit check to be sure it broke on his back.

Leave the bps at 12 and not reduce it to 10. In the days, pre ramping, even i could hit a consistent 12bps with my DC2.
Yes you will get cheaper insurance by lowering bps, which is your goal, but its starting to get tedious. plus think of all the board manufacturers you are forcing to supply yearly updates to satisfy.
How about you reduce the fps to 280 instead.

Abolish the Millennium mode and adopt psp mode. its far easier to police.

As Sponge said, bring back the venues.
Crystal palace > Field in Basildon
Stadium > Paris car park

that'll do for now :)

Tech - I'm impressed, that was a comprehensive and well thought out list of recommendations that make sense. Tho I'm not so sure they will run it as a non profit making enterprise because they need to have some financial incentive to run it.

Twizz - they don't need to reduce entry prizes to reduce entry fees, they could do that now easily enough mate, it just takes a subtle shift in attitude away from the Draconian one they seem to have adopted.

Cheers Robo, good to have you back and now owning the forums :)

Howz about not putting the events on at the same weekend as another major events at the same venue / area.

Nurburgring 2007......

Makes getting hotels close a whole lot easier.

Making the placement of the venue clear. How many teams booked hotels at Malaga to find out it was actually at Fuengirola this year!

Some of the stuff you mention may be contradicting. If you want better turf, more marshalls (and better ones!), that may prevent a lowering of entry fees.
But, there is an easy solution to the whole turf thing: Bring back good old grass! Which coincides nicely with the old venues you like. ;) (so no worries, I ain't disagreeing with you)

Personally I'd say that leaving behind some of the venues and going back to some of the olds spots will reduce costs, and thus could benefit the player.
Besides, all sports are nicer on real grass.
