UK PAINTBALL Vs EUROPEAN PAINBALL

I’m finding it a great emotion torment that to play any competitive paintball (Which by this i hope not to or even mean to undermine any other player or team in the UK) But why is it that we have to travel into Europe to play good quality paintball.

Why is it so hard for the top teams in the UK to support other UK teams by giving them each a chance to step up to and be counted.

It is my impression that every time plans are laid down it create the arena for the top 6 to 10 teams in the uk to battle it out, the very top teams will not commit.

Really this thread is a question. No this is a direct shout to the top teams in the UK to answer this for themselves.

WHY?
this makes me laugh, i dont believe that the top teams owe anything to uk paintball or anyone. The reason the top teams are the top teams is because they have spent their free time to train regularly and play at the best level they can, why should these people have to help others that arent willing to commit at a similar level to themselves??

Everyone knows exactly where they can go to play against the best teams in the uk, if they want to play at a better level they can go there.

Just as UK teams start winning in europe people start complaining about UK ball, its completly ridiculous. And blaming it on money, lack of financial backing or on top teams that supposedly dont give enough back into the sport is just making excuses for peoples lack of willingness to excel or better themselves.

I'm glad that some thing that was never even implied made you laugh.

The point of this thread is not that any of our top players owe anything to anyone. Maybe some thanks to a few people along the way but nothing apart from that. And it isn’t about the everybody in the sport it is concerning our potential professionals and why can’t they help themselves.

Everyone understands that paintball is not a spectator sport, as sed time and time again, due to the very un-common rules that are in place when compared with other sports. As well as there being 10 points of action on the field to focus on at anyone time, unlike ball sports where the ball is the single focus point for the fans. With understanding and awareness this may or may not change, but is not the concern of this thread.

What I’m trying to ascertain is not the defining points describing the struggle or the financial commitment that any player puts their selves through. I’m trying to find out why is it when marketing the sport they can’t listen to the companies and local counsels that are actually interested?

There are a few people in the UK that really work hard to bring everyone tournaments, leagues and opportunities to better them selves within this sport, not only in there abilities on the field but as a social activity. To them everyone owes respect.

But one thing is needed, and that is a national platform for the top and upcoming teams to market themselves and there players. And why can these teams commit?

i may have mis-interpreted what you are saying here, but to me it says that the top teams do not not support lower division teams (implying that the top teams owe their support to lower division teams).

at the end of the day the top teams are always going to play in europe or america because thats where the most competitive play is, blaming the top teams for a lack of a national league which is as competitive as europe or america is unfair.

The understanding that top teams will always or have go aboard to play top competition is where this thread began.

Unfair or Fair, it is down to the top teams not supporting attempts at making a national league for them.

Dave Stewart made attempts this year with a joint effect from D7's and the Northern quarter and due to lack of support from the top 3 teams the series was cancelled. The teams that were willing to support a UK league even cancelled plans in European leagues, some of them almost losing hard earned spots in these leagues to support it.

I even herd that the UK Masters even put time and money into accommodating a new division and format into their event for the top teams. Which only the Tigers supported.

Who is to blame?

Yes its unfair to blame the players themselves, I would like to think that all the players at this level feel the same. But is it fair to the organizers who keep working to attempt the impossible.

THE UK TOURNAMENT SCENE NEEDS MORE CUP EVENTS!!

Get some of these back (PA CUP, Marchbrook Cup and the like) as these give the smaller profile teams who realistically will never play let alone 'compete' in a big international event something to aim at and enjoy. FA Cup anyone? Superb tournament for English football so why isn't there another one of these? The UK organisers should lock heads and do something again, maybe on a scale of what the Mayhem Masters was like, International scale event but UK only.

If there are still cup events then I apologise and let's hear of em.

Does the PA Cup still exist?

more fool them, before even thinking about getting a decent league in this country teams have to want to train more. At the end of the day it aint gonna make a blind bit of difference to any team if they play one or two games against the top uk teams at a masters for example if these teams dont train.

It makes a HUGE difference if they play one or two games against a top team.

One top team: The chumps get hammered within 30 seconds in one game.
Two top teams: The chumps get hammered within 30 seconds in two games.

Scenario 2 means less time on the field, meaning less experience, less bang for the buck, less time to learn, more underpants sh*tted in.

Ergo, the more top teams in attendence, the more an event sucks. I say all top teams should be banned. ;):D
