all the fields are on grass but they all seem to be very flat and should be great to play on:D

And the fields at Disney in 2004 were the best. Gravel backfill in the dips, sharp rocks and broken glass on the fields. In between the aligator-infested swamp that was the staging area.
Hehe yeah that was a fun event. Like playing on a landfill site that had been roughly ploughed. :p

I don't get what was special about the NEC. It was a car park, no more, and could have been any anonymous car park anywhere in the world. The XL turf was wot made it, but the venue was no better than the Bogcaster NCP.

I agree and dis-agree Rabies, sure the Car Park could have been anywhere but with it being at the NEC it was really easy to get to by road, rail or air and had loads of room.

Plus the players party was held in Brum city centre with loads of places to go.

Best of the UK venues by a long shot.

Laters :)

i dont think there was any outside intrest was there at the nec?

agreed the turf was amaxing to play on, was a pretty good setup with access to all fields from at least one side and also the grandstands were brilliant for the finals.

in my opinion the only thing lacking from last years event was the atmosphere in the stands round the cpl/spl field. Both nec and crystal palace had better a better atmosphere im the grandstands.

the only thing im hoping they improve on bar the stands is the choice of food, wasnt a very big seletion last year.

Pro-Caps, Spike, has arranged free entry before 11pm to the UK's newest clubbing venue.

Four clubs, in one.....

Liquid, Envy, New York New York and JJ's. You can move between the various venues.

I know the manager there and he tells me they have approx 3500 people PER NIGHT on a friday and saturday.

not many clubs can boast a capacity like that.

I don't see NEC having anything over Basildon - Gloucester park is big, flat, within 40 minutes of two major airports (Gatwick & Stansted) there are loads of hotels in the area and it's a 10 minute walk from a mainline station. Plus you'll get non-paintballers looking in.

The site isn't a field, it's a nicely mown recreational park. The place couldn't be much easier to find, sandwiched between two of the largest A roads in the county (A127 & A13).

Tis nice to have a major tournament held in the most densely populated area of the UK, rather than off in the boonies somewhere. ;)

The location is no excuse for people to avoid the event.

Just hope to god that the weather is better than last year - I'm going to bring my dingy just in case.
