In my day to day job I am resposible for sponsorship of individuals and teams (not paintball related before any of you get excited!)
I just thought out of intrest, what do you feel you give back to your "brand"
Most teams are "sponsored" to some degree, most of the companys that do you deals are large multinational groups, what do you do for them?
Do you see yourselves as helping to promote there brand or do you feel that if you bring new people into the sport that you will advise them to go with this brand? Do any of you have brand loyalty? or would you go with the people that gave you the best deal!

Discuss!:)

Tinkering ain’t easy
My team is sponsored by a great ;) training facilty, shameless plug time (www.northernstarpaintballacademy.co.uk) which we helped build and design with the owner. We run training sessions there and help get the brand name out there and new people into the site by helping out where ever we can (including helping marshal, organising and building where required)

I feel that if you are "sponsored" by a brand then you should show loyalty to them and not just fish around for the best deal (although this is human nature-capitalisms fault?)

I think many people are just out for what the best deal they can get and aren't necessary bothered who gives them it

We get sponsored, and for the sponsorers we advertise their brand to others. Thats all really and we kinda give them the satisfaction of sponsoring a good team!:D

Gassy hit the nail on the head. as and when people pay me to shoot their markers, I will guaranteea rise in sales.

Until then however I will shoot what I like. Which is a lot :D

IMO most people get lower prices on gear, paint etc for displaying the company's name and logo, to me that's not sponsorship because they're still paying a price for their gear, to me that is just "price assistance". That's just my opinion not sure how others feel.

Wikipedia said:
To sponsor something is to support an event, activity, person, or organization financially or through the provision of products or services.
Sponsorship does not necessarily mean that you will get things for free.
Price assistance is still support and therefore by definition sponsorship
