For the sake of clarity

Until the other tournaments circuits release their dates for 2009, I will be unable to post up a date for this.

However, I can guarantee there will be "A bit of blue for the Dads" at this event.

:)

Update

I had a meeting with Ledz yesterday re this, and we are thinking along the same lines in quite a few respects.

He gave me some very good tips, advice and ideas, and I will now type up my handwritten notes from the meeting then post up.

Blackpool Council want to meet with me in the second week of July, so I will let you all know how that goes.

:)

Just got back from holiday

So apologies for the delay in posting.

Ledz and I are in agreement that this should be a limited paint multiformat event, and he has suggested I run a "tester" event prior to putting this on.

I have a meeting with Blackpool Council on Thursday, so I will post up after that.

Watch this space!

:)

Update

Just got back from my meeting with Blackpool Council, and to say that I am pleased with their enthusiasm for this event is an understatement.

We can have the fields set up on the promenade, as two extensions to the prom are being built to accommodate the European Beach Volleyball finals, and paintball fields will fit nicely on these.

It has also been suggested that I use the sand dunes at Squires Gate as "concept" fields, along the lines of the mound fields at Pittsburgh from the old NPPL circuit.

I have also been advised to run a "tester" event before putting on a big event, in order to iron out any bugs.

I would therefore suggest that the tester event be 7 man limited paint, uncapped semi.

If teams can't commit to a 7 man format, I suggest we run a 3 man format and run a pump division also.

What do you think?

:)
