If they managed to get their hands on some guns, and shot up london, i don't think that would be too funny.

A day of paintballing might give them the impression they were capable of doing something like this.


Given the tendancy for these chaps to blow themselves up, its entirely possible. Dressed as a tree or not, if they decided to shoot up a shoping mall or something, there would be little in the way to stop them. The cops in London aren't even armed!

I'm really suprised at the dismissive attitude taken by the paintballers on this forum, but i do appreciate the intelectual capacity in which it is expressed.

The ONLY thing I can see paintball teach them is a slight modicum of teamwork.

To be honest, I can't really go through life worrying about things like this. Once we start seeing ghosts and scary shadows around every corner and behind every tree, we'll be governed by fear. That's also when you'll give your government a free reign, Patriot Act stylee.

I don't think it is the paintball the paintball was just an excuse to get together and chat and plan. Basically like when we tell the other halves were going to help a friend do some DIY but really were of playing Poker or something.

I got to tell you mate, Paintball namely Recball attracts a lot of soldiers, mainly for fun, but it is also a good way for us to spot potential leaders in a battlezone, see who will work as a team and who will work as individuals.

Last year I played at a Recball site with 46 other soldiers, and it was deemed unsafe for anyone else to play with us of the other 150 people on the site. They wouldn't even let us go against everyone else

From a terrorist perspective it will be looked at the fact that team building and controlled aggression in the face of fear can be learnt, harnessed and developed. Paintball is just one of the outdoor pursuits used for this.

Please bare in mind the majority of these people have grown up in suburbs of towns and have never slept under the stars let alone ran about in the woods.

Personally I am all for it, they are pumping good money into recball sites, and they are failing to achieve much from it. Perhaps apart from having fun

I would expect this conversation won't get onto comparing religions or anything like that.

If you ever had to marshal a game of inner city kids from Brixton, you'd know that they really believe they're living the gangers fantasy. The way they dance around with the guns like it's stait outa a 50cent rap video, is just a bit disturbing.

Remember we're not talking about normal people here, we're talking about radicalised fanatics. People who have been brainwashed into thinking Murder and Suicide bombing are honerable. I think it's entirely possible they could see an activity like paintballing as a legitimate form of training.

It's the same with video games.

The bottom line is that people will read this sort of thing, and will wonder if paintballing isn't just a bit too risky to let "Brown" people do it. I don't think there's any fear over this causing a banning in paintball. Afterall even after 9-11 people can still go to flight school. They just keep a close eye on those who we "Believe' might have a racial tendancy to fly a plane into a building.

I'm not defending any particular point here, just saying that this might skew the point of view of hte impressionable masses. People might make some jokes about how you're going for some terrorist training in the new forest or something.

I guess what i'm trying to say is that we don't know from reading these articles if the Radacalised followers of Osama Bin London actually believed they were training for war by paintballing, or if they were just on a guys outing on the weekend. The point is they're trying to give the impression in their statements, that they were using paintballing as terrorist training, and it's not something we should take lightly.
