Here Here, Dark warrior. Perfectly summed up, I whish I had your way with words.

After coming back into the game two years ago I have been disappointed at how fragmented it all seems… well down south anyway. And I am stunned when people say one thing is better than another; I personally prefer more tournament level over Recball, big games and so one but that just down to being heavily involved in the Pro scene through the late 80’s and 90’s (some would say the golden years  ) and would just like to see a woodland tournament scene make a bit of a come back, and if people use that as a stepping stone into the Pro Supair scene all the better.

Before anyone has a go at me for ripping into Box about his comments on paint price; my initial concerns were with...

So my appeal is more about those running these kinds of events to try to encourage this growth and not see it as just another profit opportunity just yet.
It would be a shame if this revitalization of the woodland scene was to immediately descend in to a money making exercise for organizers.
If it was simply a "money making exercise" there would be no walk-ons or woodland tournaments as site owners/event organisers would stick to punter days selling paint @ £7-8 per 100.

Thankfully site owners are not the greedy cash hungry blood suckers that most people think they are and actually allow walk-on days to interrupt their normal cash flow.

i paid £40 for a box of Proto that looked more like golf balls in was so dimpled and came in just about every bore size you could want in one box
So why accept inferior paint, if you open a box and it's dimpled take it back as it hasn't been stored right, either by the site or you post sale. Proto as almost all brands is a very good ball when stored right.

As for more "old skool" woodland tourneys YPC Andy has paved the way for it's re-emergence in the north and I know that there are plans afoot to take it even further.

We all play recreational paintball, does not matter whether is woodland walkons, tournaments or scenario or its speedball, arenaball, hyperball, or Supair. All we are are a bunch of own gunners enjoying slightly different versions of the sport. I personally am sick of hearing woodsball vs supair with is best arguements, its not different to rugby league/union same basic game just different rules. An even better analogy is Hockey, whether you play Street, Roller, Field or Ice its still Hockey
I love the term Pro as well, do we actually have any British Pro-Players in the UK or out of it even, we may have a couple of semi-pros, thats it. Strange to think that supair players can call themselves anything more than recreational players, when at least 95% of them have never played an international game and less than 0.1% have played at world class level.

There is room for all aspects of the sport to develop if we drop the self centered approach and strive to be the best we can be in whichever facet of paintball we enjoy the most, but not forget that we all play recreational paintball.
One name - One movement - One sport
AMEN!

So you're now talking about forming, or rather the lack of (not sure which because I'm very tired) a kind of national woods league? I think it's a great idea, it's just the thing the UK woods scene needs. I guess the problem is organising it, but I for one would sell my (ex)girlfriend to see this become reality (not my current gf, shes too dirty to get rid of :p)

The seeds of a national woods ball league were sewn well over 12 months ago. But like I said previously we as ballers need to support and help develop things future

Jesus back in the day......it was £150 a box dude! I know it was 10 shot tubes and small gravity fed hoppers on pumps etc, but come on, paint is quite reasonable these days!
