OK so here it is.
It is looking like woodland tournaments are starting to make a bit of a come back, I know that there appears to be a large number of players who would like to see this side of paintball start up again. I personally played two 5 man woodsball days recently and had a great time, and everyone I have spoken to seems to want more of these days. Holmbush are running 3 more this year and Wayne at Dorking is also thinking of running more.
So what is the appeal? Well I would like to see anyone running these days to try and provide good quality paint for a reasonable price. This is for two reasons.
It would be a shame if this revitalization of the woodland scene was to immediately descend in to a money making exercise for organizers, I feel this would kill of any chance of this taking off. Now I know that all sites run as a profit making business and I would not expect anyone to run a day at a loss but we all know that cost price paint is around 1.5p to 2p a ball all I ask is that we be a little more focused on getting woodland play back in to a health state in this country.
Secondly if we are all shooting good paint it will make the play a bit more fair and interesting and take away any advantage the rich buggers who can buy box after box of the best paint, so levelling the playing field and giving the new guys a bit of a sporting chance.
So come on all you site owners lets work on getting woodsball back to a health state in this country.
