personally, while I am somewhat sceptical it will be pleaseant to see if this lowering of firing rates does genuinley make a change to the game and see if it can make it more about personal fitness rather than who can lay the most paint.

my sincerest hope is that it does not stifle the teching and R and D of paintball and that manafacturers dont accept the status quo and start making their markers to fire Just 12 balls a second, eg carry on with refining and honig exisitng kit to continue to make kit better and better.

oh and that the price of paint doesnt go up

And so can anyone else! so it's all down to playing skill! with nobody having any cheating advantage.
Let's hope the Marshalls can enforce it, cause I am sick of people using Linear ramping as their reason for instantly getting to 15BPS, I am more than happy to be Chronied like always to prove I am within the rules laid down

how hard is liniar ramping to detect though!! its a pain in the arse, and not soemthing thats needed. is there ever going to be a surefire way to eliminate folk ramping
To detect it the marker will read custom... same as what is going to be needed to achieve 12bps and then hand held Chrony will show it up

I can think of loads of potential reasons one might want the rof capped lower (increase movement etc.), but has the PSP announced an official reason for doing it? Just curious.

Just throwing this out there cus i havent thought too much about it yet.

Do we really want to alienate less fit and or agile people from the 'sport'? I mean, i cant think of a 'sport' with such high average age with golf as an exception, and in all sincerity, alot of those are actually the guys sitting on the moneyz.. We do not have a european equivalent of the masters division yet. Where are they supposed to go really?

I cant speak for the guys who had to do this, but i for one wouldnt want to step away from my regular team and friends for beeing redundant on the squad.

Alot of people who are, to put it less blunt, not the optimal xball player managed to make an Ok conversion to the mill format last year. Sure, maybe its not the apropriate player for all occassions, however alot of them pulled their own weight, excuse the pun..

So please, just give me some opinions or thoughts. As i said, not thought it through to much yet so i might be waaay off.

i know where your coming from being 37 and on the slim side :p i can see the positives in the US but there just is not the same player base in the UK so i guess we will see in a year or two how it pans out,
