Does that make you feel big? I don't lie, Markie. Yes, i test every single pallet before it is allowed to come thru a DF gate. Not only that but our centre managers test the batches AGAIN on delivery to the centres and submit their paint test results to me to compare to my original results. Our 4 suppliers submit a sample of between 100 and 500 balls to me from every batch before we accept it.

Today i tested 27 pallets of paint from Manic, earlier in the week 3 pallets from Powerball and 9 pallets from Phoenix. Ask the people i have listed, they know the criteria we require. By all means PM me and make arrangements to come to the DF head office and see a record of every pallet of paint we have used from the last 3 years, drop tests, slam tests pole and seam measurements etc etc. I sense this surprises you? You think that strange or extreme? We don't. We think that's an acceptable standard. So, here we go blowing myths about DF out of the water again. Wake up and smell the roses. Rental paintball in the UK has changed. Time for other operators to play catch up.

DF have not bought a 'rainbow' mix in the 3 years that i have been testing paint. FACT. We have been offered it, but as it is a mix of batch ends it is impossible to get a true test result as it could be made up of 5-10 batches of paint. We just don't bother with cheap paint like that. What you may have seen is a mix of paint that the centre managers themselves have mixed, after we have accepted the individual batches. This is only done when we have say 5 boxes of one colour and another 20 boxes of something else etc. Rather than give some players yellow and other players green we mix them so everyone has the same. As soon as someone has something different to you, people draw conclusions that one is better than the other, so we mix to avoid this sort of psyche.
Ok, fair enough I can't remember how long ago it was but it was less than 2 years. But the paint was definitely rainbow mix as I remember some girl commenting on how nice the different shells looked. May have been a stray box but anyway.

ok we all know that site paint aint gonna be the best, but the way you gotta look at it, if every ball broke that hit someone, they wouldnt have a very long day playin would they, then they'd moan still!!!! they mght well have loved a better paint but its not realistic to use it all the time!!!

plus u have the added little bits of extra paddin on, body armour in some cases etc etc!!!!!

besides, even with more expensive paint, u get bouncers!!!
i do agree that most site paint is rediculously expensive, but thats a business for u!!!!

oh and not that i wanna bitch, but if only delta force put as much effort into pickin their marshals as they do their paint samples, the places wouldbe so much better??!!!

Never once had a problem with marshals at delta force. But that's not the thread.

Anyway at the end of the day if you use expensive tournament paint it's going to break in the guns more than on the other team.

Inferno went fine through our tippies chronoed at 280.
30 or so customers using it for half a day, and not a single problem.
I'd guesstimate that'd be about 15,000 paintballs.

And theres a trade off, do you give your customers good paint, and give them a brilliant day in the hopes that they'll be a repeat customer again, or do you give them swervey, bouncey stuff and run them for as much money as you can?

And if the games end quicker because the paint breaks sooner, then the customers can have even more games in the day, further making them feel like they've payed for their monies worth.

Sure, you do get bouncers because of people wearing overalls and their clothes underneath, but there is a HUGE difference between the amount of breaks in a good paint and a cheap paint. Theres also a massive difference in getting that ball on the target in the first place.

site guns aint the most paint freindly, not likely to be runnin cure bolts and ego's!!!!

most people who own sites lose their interest in paintball as a sport! and its about the money!!!!

The fact you are insulting the company you work for and have given the site you work for on a public forum hasnt occured you could be "dealt with" quietly :p

If you have a problem with Gups then your best bet is a pm about said site, otherwise Gups could get mighty pissed off with you ;)

lol, yeah a PM would have been more appropriate! But as it's said now i'll answer. I started testing your centre's paint as of about 4 months ago. Before this i was not testing paint from one supplier, only the other 3, we had someone else doing the 4th supplier.

Your centre's location means from a logistics point of view you nearly always get one particular brand of paint. Said supplier has noted a problem recently with paint being somewhat bouncy and they aren't pleased about this either. They have taken it up with the manufacturers.

No you shouldn't / aren't getting winter paint. Why do you think you are getting this? Is this a conclusion marshals have drawn because the paint is bouncy? I often send round messages to all the managers and make phone calls etc to check everyone is happy with their paint and your manager hasn't reported any problems. If there is a problem up there is need to know (by pm please!) what problems you are experiencing - breaks, odd sized balls, balls not breaking, gun jams etc etc It may be a gun problem and not a paint problem. Do your players regularly pick up paintballs - do the marshlas try to discourage this as they should? What is the serial number range of the majority of your guns? If under 5100, we are withdrawing all of these at the autumn valve change as they will be 3 years old and past their best.

Just pointing this out as there are often other factors than just 'bad' paint...

FYI I personally test every pallet of paint that DF use, every week of the year. Have done so for 2-3 years now. That's a lot of pallets of paint.
