a simple resolution to the penalty box.

get a 2way radio or even just a reciever speaker. and attach I to the startgate rear.

man on laptop then gives either a countdown in intervals or gives a10 second warning and then a buzzer for go! can be as cheap as a tenner to set up.

and it free's up the ref so they can get on with their job.

job done

not everyone in the uk wants to play whatever "the top euro teams play" and until the whole of the ms plays cpl format then chaging the PA to suit the minority of players who play spl/cpl from the uk isnt in most peoples interest..
But playing this format will improve the state of UK ball ansd for the mahority that dont play mills will still enjoy this frmat just as much as Xball and in fact most likely at a lesser cost.

and of course, the UK is NEVER going to,as you say, run american style xball if noone is prepared to give it a shot, which is what Russ et al have been trying to do..
This wont happen any time soon if ever, euro ball is not going full xball over night as millennium are setting the own format in terms of CPL/SPL which is a good format to play. I know Russ is doing well but I see this new format a side step along with a forward one. I mean if your gona put all this time and effort then why not make leaps forward and follow the format that us as UK ballers are gona be playing in big tourneys and need in the UK to grow in strength as a paintball community.

to be frank, as ant pointed out, the MS people are by and large a bunch of tossers IMHO.
at least Russell and the pa strive to improve and actually engage in dialogue. more than can be said for the MS.
This is not a MS v PA debate. Its a 'Lets get better at the format that euro ball plays and that any of us UK teams are ever gona likely to play whether that be one event of the whole season. This type of format in a monthly league is the only way that we are ever gona progress.

To through it in a different light ....... Would you want all UK tourneys to play woodland knowing full well that the Millennium, being the only big event that you'll most likely ever play in as a UK team is Sup Air. Or even playing 10 man when the big events that you want to play is 5man.

I SURE WOULDN'T and this is why XBALL makes no sense to us at the moment what so ever. If it was used in other big tourneys then YES go ahead and let’s play it but we don’t so there’s no point. Its a gimmick that wanted to be tested out and to be fair it’s not helping any one in the slightest ....... and yeah you are giving all the rest that don’t play mills the chance to experience a good format but jeeez CPL/SPL is just as exciting and as fast n aggressive just not as many games that’s all, which can be sorted by playing 3/4 games in a day instead of 2.

Why doesn’t any see what were trying to say, or do you just want UK ball drag its ass behind even further as the years go bye  ???

You will have more luck trying to sell Ice to Eskimos than trying to tell this lot what matters................

If people want to play this format then fine, just stay at this level, But I've reached a peak in this sport buy earnig a spot and playing CPL format againt Europe and Americas best! Thats were it matters END OF!

All this "Just for fun" talk is Bollocks, you need compatition, you need to be the best.............

on the penatly box issue and players in it wanting a timer

why not just play fair and not get the penalty in the first place?
Cookie my boy, the whole point of the penalty box is to do away with the penalty point system. How many times have we all seen players arguing about a penalty after a game, wasting the refs time. And let's be honest, how many of us have been the ones staying on field doing the arguing?!! When the buzzer or horn signals the end of a point being played for, the 2 minute countdown to the start of the next point starts automatically. Now, if you have any member of your squad on the field when that buzzer starts, in effect meaning that you have an extra player on the field, you will incur another time penalty. It just takes that grey area away where players can get penalty points removed, but once a time penalty has been given, it's not coming off the board, even if you are God!!

Obviously I havent played CPL,
but apart from the amount of points/time you play is there much difference?
I would of thought being 5 man multi point format it would be pretty similar.

As i said i havent played the CPL format and I dont know, this aint a pop or anything,

I actually agree that we may as well play a format that benefits some teams rather than none, the non CPL/SPL teams would probably play either way wouldnt they ?
and they would get to play more teams in a day, which would save some of them getting beaten up by the bigger boys in the division.
Though then the top teams would also get less time against each other..
