hemel hempsteead oooo love it
i do not play the PA, but have played xball. i feel that Xball is tho only way forward for paintball as its much more like a spectator sport. Also the CPL/SPL rules are quite similar and it is much like Xball light IMO. CPL/SPL format would be something to look at especially if the millenium change to this format througout the divs, but untill then i think we should be happy we have an official Xball league here in the UK.

Lucky_teck...

i aggree with you that is would be good to have opourtunitys to play the millenium format and give english teams a foundation to take over to europe.

yet i stand to my belifes that, x-ball and cpl should be kept separate, maybe incorporated into the masters>>>?

Unfortunately though my views cant be backed up by experience as i have never , experienced the cpl format, yet I'm in the knowledge that the scoring and time frames are different to that of x ball.

I think the problem with people wanting to play the Mills format is once you start doing that you are beholden to the MS.

And lets face it. No one wants that.

The whole point behind what woody was saying is uk teams need to improve the format they play and a cpl based event would do that plus it would give up and coming teams a chance to play that format.
At the end of the day it is just Sup-Air bunkers on a field if you really think that if you have an M instead of a X it will make a huge difference to the quality of your play - your wrong.

It is not the centre piece that will improve your game if that is ever going to happen it is the format - only that.
I have already said that if the MS confirmed they was going to keep a format I would consider using it, if it was for the benefit of players not only the series.

If I was doing 7 man I would be asked to do it the same as the NPPL and be given twenty reasons why it would be beneficial to do so, bollocks its paintball with inflated bunkers once you start the game it matters not what format you are playing only you shoot the other team before they rinse your arse.
The rest is just hype and bull****, the difference is I admit it, but I also want to give you the most entertaining time you can get for your cash as in value for money.

It's Xball and it's staying Xball - but I am working on improving a lot of what goes on including increasing the number of base's for the teams to change in because I know how I want it for everyone but it will take time.
If the MS wanted to run a real league not the excuse they have know they should emulate what we are doing.

Football works ffs forget the actual game on the pitch, the league system that keeps everyone looking at Mondays press to see how everyone is doing is what we need to utilise to the best of our ability's

I think the point is that X Ball is the ****. The Millenium is just ****, you all know it but for whatever dumb arsed reason, you still go along to play this series that does nothing at all to benefit or support the people who keep the series running.. YOU GUYS THE TOURNAMENT PLAYERS. How many times do you all post up complaining about the refs, organisation, location, cost, value for money, etc. At least the PA organisers listen to concerns and rectify any problems in time for the next event. Millenium organisers listen to what you have got to say and shrug their shoulders, hoping you will all put up with their **** and forget about it.

Russ, I was only suggesting that we(the players) keep the scenario as real as possible by using this event as a practice run for a major event, using the field set up that is going to be at a millenium a couple of weeks later would be far more beneficial for the majority of teams, you might even get better teams wanting to play this event including the likes of Nexus and Shockwave..........Surely that would be better for the public?

I've played both legs of the pa upto now, and it seems to me the X is a total waist of time, Everybody seems to hide behind it at the begining of the game and the ones that are brave/stupid enough to go out to the corners get shot up everytime!

I can understand everyones point of view on this topic but for Brittish paintball to get better, we have to look at what format the High rollers are playing in europe..........Not piss about shooting the crap out of each other in a format thats about as useful as a chocolate fireguard!
