Anther thing we should adress is this:
Which entry fees does this first payment cover? I mean do we have to pay for the first three events aswell. My opinion is that whichever sum of money we pay now should go to the first entryfees.

From my limited knowledge ....... and please correct me if I am wrong ...... But don't all LIMITED companies have to collect VAT for HM Customs ???

If this is correct then obviously previous years entry fees did include VAT and the 17.5% being added for 2007 is purely a price increase.

Syd beat me to it - but it is then longer ago than I thought.

Would be interesting to learn if the company has been charging VAT in all that time - or it it is even the business entity that has received the entry fees ;)

Nick
Last time I looked at this up close, entry fees went to the promoters, not the league...;)
So be happy that it's UK based, mainland Europe mostly pays 19% VAT... I don't know why you people are complaining. ;)

Fact remains that if you're not a uk resident/company then you are not liable for vat. I have plenty of experience in this being a Jersey tax dodger lol ;) :D
Er no...

As an EC resident you are still supposed to pay VAT when purchasing goods or services from other EC countries, since we're one big, happy community. Y'all Jersey types are just weird, and the rest of the EC just doesn't want to have anything to do with you. ;)

Only if they turn over more than a specified amount of £61,000 for the year which I would think is easily achieved.

That isn't the point Jay :)

It is that the teams that are incorporated could have claimed the VAT last year OR the MS didn't pay VAT last year.

Also, it is pure stupidity to expect the teams to just accept a 17,5 % increase in entry fees - whay exactly do we get for our money?
