Ya think things are that simple in Paintball Lump?

Do you honestly think we can reduce the commonsense notion of a single league to consumerist marketing 101?

Mikey might, even you might but I tell you who is gonna teach you different ....Mister reality is gonna teach ya different that's who!

I'm not being negative, I'm being realistic because I know what the politics are and I know what these people are like and just because you, or any number of players think it should be done differently, it ain't gonna make a blind bit of difference mate.

You can talk as much as you like on these boards and pat each other on the back thus empowering socialist enterprises such as these but we will still be where we are now in a year's time because it ain't the player who makes the changes, it's the industry.
Live with it, we all have to mate.

Thank You at least theres someone else being realistic

Ironically Russ, in the yay PA speil above, you suggest that you want to help paintball realise it's 'full potential' yet earlier in your post you say that you deliberately stepped away from using MS, NPPL, (ML) rules so that your event would be recognised by the Sports Council. Baring in mind that significant achievement in this game of ours is measured by results at ML events, how is trying to reinvent the wheel with a new format going to help anybody with ML objectives? If anything, it holds them back. It's all very good if UK teams have no aspirations of achievement outside of the UK, or outside of your dream league to be more accurate, but some do or should do.

The whole thing just sells as an ego trip to me; trying to forge the shape of uk paintball and what is recognised as achievement, as opposed to simply providing a good tournament series for UK teams which uses transferable (ML) rules and format.

Lump - Andy is right, players/customers only have power when they have alternatives to choose from or a cohesive/organised pressure group to lobby change. Players in this country do not have many options and organising paintballers is like trying to herd cats. Ever tried herding cats? - nightmare.

edit: or what Pete said....

Same question goes to you then andy ?
Is it a realistic notion that you can get 85% of teams, most of which probably 'just wanna play', to form a picket line instead of shooting paintballs on their day away from the home DIY for the wife?

if 85% of teams stopped going to tournies aye... the organisers would have to take note....

getting 85% of teams to stop going to tournies on the other hand is a different matter

Ok 1st off, I have NO Experience of anything other than NSPL

And I like the way Chris Pelling (Mr Syd) is moving with the times and his customers.

In 6 years I believe he has developed the (SWPL) NSPL into one of the biggest and best ( have been told this) paintball leagues

Why change things are there problems in Uk paintball that this would fix? OR MASK!

I say Keep your grubby little hands of My NSPL ( I’m with lump):D

Why would you want to amalgamate them any way?

Was going to stay away from this thread ,however .........

Pete has put case forward why this will never and i mean never ever happen .

Remind me again why the majority of tournaments organizers ,well run tournaments ....to make money , they dont do it for the love of the game that i can assure you .

So we have established why they do it,dont resent them for doing this , they have got off there arse and made it happen .

Right to the teams

As some people have said teams want to play locally and just enjoy it for what it is ...., Now i can count about 6 teams in the whole of the country that take it serious and i mean serious as they can be with the constraints they have on them ,money, work the usual bull **** .

let these teams just get on with it , Why would they play and event say cost them £300 entry and on top of that paint travel and so forth .I can say it costs these teams a siht load to train and get to the europen events as it is so throwing an local event in to the mix is a none starter . ......unless there is going to be free local event  any time soon ........

So these local teams will play LOCAL events and if the want to train they have the option of going to Northern Quarter or going to D'7s.
The standard in the UK is very poor at the moment we all know this . we do however have the building blocks to go forward ,We have to put the effort in ,it wont come to you.
