p.s. Raffles is spot on with the 'fair' idea, I have been to a U.S. event and they do pull out all the stops to attrach non-ballers also.

This ain't true mate, maybe the NPPL do their bit but I'm afraid the PSP / NXL have historically been as self-promoting as the Dalai Lama.
Basically, with a PSP / NXL event, you wouldn't know if it was there unless you were playing, judging or attending as a vendor.
