Therein lies my point - down south.

The pro teams seem to be spread out across the states whereas our teams are mostly down south with the exception of the kelly's who do an excellent job over at NQ headquarters.

Mike,y. There are kids in the states who will travel 4 or 5 hours to practice and not moan about it. Their parent will even drive them there and back. They have a will to excel which the vast majority of kids here dont have.
Plus the majority of teams in the high population areas (i.e. new york etc ..) fly to training yes thats right fly on a plane to train! Thats dedication right there

Plus many people over here our age struggle with playing due to a) cost of gear and also the lack of persistance from parents when they find out the costs

Its just a lack of understanding from some parents that stop ''the next best thing'' from playing. After all we all have to put in the money and time to get to places when you cant drive and you dont earn a whole loada cash in order for things to get cheaper (as you move up in the ranks you can ... in most cases, get cheaper games hence more play)

my two pence worth

hmmmmmmmm dunno if its been mentioned but have you not realised that in the states paintball is pretty much a recognised sport they have a collegiate(sp) league and all sorts so paintball is more accessable and accepted but over here you say paintball and people are like wow you run through woods
tournament paintball over here just hasnt got enough coverage and exposure
also our government is less likely to allow us to go round buying markers etc off tesco shelves are they, just blatantly not gonna be safe with so many chavs and gangsta wannabes running riot in the cities and last but not least they actually have adverts on tv over there:eek: well i been told they have not 100% but overall us government is more leaniant than uk and they have hard core gangsta retro ballers in the ghetto preaching about it day and night to n00bs and the such.

PBN is a nessasary evil. . .You did however forget one item that is on there all the time, how to get 'sponsers' and 'sponsership'
Does anybody but me see the irony of slagging the Americans for their spelling in the same post where "necessary" is misspelt?

To wit:

isn't it mor elikley that they will have a lot more tellent simply because the U.K. is like a small spec of dust compared to the U.S.?
Mor eplayers= more potential winners.

I think PBnation is ok, because flaming is equil but it shows a lot of Americans to be what they are, trash talking, racist wanna be "gangsta" homophobes.

At least the PBnation kids have an excuse: "I'm only 14" :D

not realy more security checks now but before 9/11 it was only the same price as a easy jet flight with no waiting you turned up 30 mins before your flight no checks/ no customs/no security they ran them the same way as a bus service

to show how cheap internal flights are in american internal
pilots earn on average $30k a year less than i take home as a delivery driver in this country

the main problem here is getting to somewhere our public transport system is a joke and without a car most people are stuck and even then with our failing road network its still a nightmare

I am at 2-3 hours and I'm 14 but then that doesn't mean anything about my dedication or attitude it means I am extremly lucky and have well off parents who doesn't instantly associate
guns= gangs, violence, drugs and murder
as that is what I believe the problem is.
Over there so many more children at the age of 12 (or younger if they are completely lenient parents) can get into the sports because paintball is an accepted sport over there so they don't instantly make biased opinions on what paintballing is about and bar there children from playing and also they are so much more relaxed about gun culture over there they probably wouldn't even care if they did make the connection.
So of course there is going to be more kids on there and there also going to be from a wider cross section of society so it goes with out saying that you are going to get larger range of attitudes. However I would think it is a mistake to take just a few of the most vocal and confuses this with "Hunger".

We got a few young players and I know they will go a long way!

Just to clear a couple things up for you Euro lot, paintball is by no means an "accepted" sport in the states. More accepted than in the UK, perhaps. But not the kind of thing most Americans sit down to watch on TV for a few hours on the weekends. Even here, when you say "paintball" most people think of the woodsball Rambo warrior type. That or they think of it as some kind of fantasy sports daycamp for a bunch of teenage kids (which isn't really that far from the truth, in all honesty). It's not taken seriously (which could be attributed to the fact that most of the people who play are the bunch of punk-ass 12 year old kids that live at PBnation).

And our driving laws allow kids to begin driving at 15 only when accompanied by a licensed adult driver (at 15 you get your drivers "permit"). To drive by your lonesome, you gotta be 16 and have your drivers "license". And then you gotta buy a car (or borrow your parents' and take the obligotory lecture every time), buy insurance and pay for gas (which isn't too excessive for adults with jobs, but is tougher to do at 16 when the best job you MIGHT be able to get is flipping burgers at McDonalds, and you have to balance that out with school and all of the other ridiculous things most high school kids spend their money on). It ain't exactly like American kids take escalators out of their beds when they wake up, down to the paintball field where air and paint are free. I live in Las Vegas right now (a city with over a million and a half people), and there's a grand total of one Sup'Air field in the entire city. Prices are good, but the field is run by a bunch of little kids, with no refs and no organisation (kinda like PBnation).
