To answer a couple of your spazz questions
One guy wanted to do a eye in the sky....... so as for production you could not have asked for a better team. These guys realy enjoyed them selves and after the first 2 games understood the concept of the x ball style format.
This is the point that was clear to these people how to get across the game to the joe public so it was clear to them.
Having seen how this has been put together I hope for paintball's sake this works as in my humble opnion this is the tv coverage I have seen put together.

As for the rest time can only tell but the work and effort put by Billy and Adam to get this done right has to be respected.
The production team are a very well respected and proffesional group, the camera guys well fantastic and realy got into their work , at lunch listening to these guys talk about angles how to get a better shot was the real deal.

Having the right people holding the cameras is essential. I've had one camera crew that was great and got us the best footage to date and another crew that sucked and forced us to work with what we had to work with.
The crew of the NPPL show was the latter variety, unfortunately - so if the SP show got cameras in people's hands and on the field (and not mostly on booms and towers on the sidelines) there's a lot of potential for some good footage there.
What I'm surprised no one has hit on yet is that the SP show was filmed basically in a studio; no other divisions, no vendors, etc. So if that's successful, how does that impact the either of the national circuits? Does the next production colocate with a series? Or does it continue to just get filmed in a 4-5 day crunch in a studio somewhere?
And if so, is that good for the sport? Do we want made-for-TV paintball, or do we want a season that actually gets filmed?

The arena used was one they use for concerts basket ball etc in fact after the last game we only had about 8 hours to clean up as Willy Nelson crew were comung in to set up.
The benefit of the indoor arena was the quality of the photography totally cool.
To answer one part of your question they had 4 sideline camera guys 2 each side in the corners and they got the living crap shot out of them and much respect to these guys . They also had 2 minature wide angle remotes on the snake side that could capture any move down the snake, then there was 2 teams that were either behind the break out or in the team box's recording the players reactions bleep bleep I am sure will be used.

Just so you know Pete, Adam spent nearly 3 weeks in New York working with the edititing people, just insane hours what I have seen will please even you, of course we were not graced with your perfect smile but there is all ways the future bet the the ******* put me on the cutting room floor though

I'll hold my judgement until I've seen it, but I think paintball looks a lot better filmed outdoors.
That's just an "icing" thing though. And I have no idea what the arena setup was. The camera setup sounds pretty good. I couldn't believe that the crew for the NPPL show used essentially the same camera setup that the NXL used in 2004, given how poor that show turned out.
Do you know if the SP show was filmed in HD? One thing the NPPL show definitely had going for it was the overhead cam, but it's tough to make anything out on a standard-def TV (thus the highlight targets). Would be very cool to have a wide-screen HD overhead view from the 50.
The indoor environment was outstanding. The only real weakness was the quasi-Xball layout and the fact not a full crew of refs was on hand but both those features won't likely impact the production even if it impacted the play.
This is the $64,000 question and the survival of one or both leagues may depend on the answer.
I would, of course, side with an actual season but there are issues with that too. (Another shameless plug--keep an eye out for my solution coming soon in PGi.

Nah, I have heard a lot and if it's half as good as the people who have seen it say it is, then it could be a winner.
Let's hope it is but if it is, I wonder how the cards will fall for world Paintball then...I would think there are a lot of nervous people sitting around at the moment wondering wtf is gonna happen.
From my point of view, I have no problem with the A & B show, it's you know who that worries me ....... he doesn't exactly have a track record of conciliatory and or professional behaviour.....
