Interestingly, the parody pages on Facebook, Dim Hairnet/Snoreline and Bluewaffle seem to have disappeared/had content deleted.
I wonder what the reason for that is? I wouldn't personally go out to set up a page but I did find them amusing in their own way. Some would say it's childish, I would think no more so than the way barnett himself actually is.

More than likely the account is suspended pending authentification of the name. Seems to have happened to loads of people lately.

When I was the UKPSF VC I put forward the following.
UKPSF Awards
UKPSF Big Game

The committee felt that they did not want to clash with another awards event. The big game idea was also shelved as there was no suitable date on the calendar.

No there is the perfect opportunity for Staargate to become the big game/trade / player conference and for the awards to come under the UKPSF.

If you dig the concept contact the UKPSF, talk to the committee. It's there to serve YOU!
But Tim said the UKPSF should just be for industry people and its daft to have the cash cows (sorry valued customers) having any influence over it, you mean he lied to us?!?

It looks like there are many who would be happy to take on the responsibility of running the national paintball awards.

After reading the message from Cambo that was posted up, to me, it didnt sound like it was written by anyone else other than TB, which, after what was said about Cambo being the face and TB running things behind the blackened curtain, would make a lot of sense. I don't think I've heard or seen anyone making 'personal attacks' etc on anyone other than TB, and even then it was exposure of truth, (with a few barbs) rather than libelous attacks.

I think that the UKPSF almost has a duty to he PB community to take up the mantle of what was a good idea, just a poorly run show. It would reduce the feedback that they get about not actually taking an interest and doing things, and show an active return to the community. They can provide updates to everyone as to what the Federation has been doing that year, what they plan to do in the next year, who they are working with and what for. Can use it to offer sneaky trailers/ info about up and coming products, even allow/ ask manufacturers to sponsor the event and give them an advertising platform about some new up and coming products. (Nothing like selling to a captive audience ;) )

Just my 1.4 pence worth anyway

Isn't the awards thing just a back-slapping piss-up?
If that's what it is, why persevere? Someones going to win, and everyone else is going to be mad and say the whole thing was fixed.
...and here's the thing. If the awards are done right, they go to the same people/organisations every year, because there isn't a new 'best (insert any word)' every year. The same people will be the best. That's why they are the best.
I could see it every 10 years.

People will always call fix for events like the awards. That's just life. The problem is a company that does not operate with integrity was involved and when that happens people will question most things about it. I can't quote specifics as I never attended or paid much attention to it but I heard there were some very odd results on some of the awards given out.

I'm gonna disagree with you here. There are very different organisera out there who each do big games, events, mid sized games, etc. Different awards for, say, best big game, best event, best magfed, best location, get the site owners involved for best sites, best welfare.
As exanples off the top of my head you have paintfeat, NvS and Mayhem who all do 'big games', urban do loads of different events, and then you have all the walkon events.
You can then look at the players/teams themselves. Best up and coming/ team, most developed, players choice, etc etc.
There is plenty of scope so it isnt just the same guys on the top table getting awards that makea the pb community feel more involved, as well as getting the shop owners to feel more accountable to their buyers with beat customer service, best on site stall etc.
Lots to work with, just needs a group of guys (and ladies) to want to do it.

One thing re this cambo guy .... I've spoken to several people who know cambo and they have said he's an ok guy but ...... in his statement re the cancelation of the awards night, not once did he recognise or even acknowledge the damage that barnett has done, not just to some of his industry peers such as Gino and Simon Cole etc but also to the wider playing arena .....
I don't expect a ten-page condemnation of barnett but FFS, saying nothing is tantamount to a resounding endorsement in such times.
If I read between the lines of cambo's statement, he's laying the blame at barnett's critics rather than the real reason, that people are sick and tired of barnett's bullsh!t and lies and are acting accordingly.

There is some truth in the observation that people can be sometimes judged upon the company they keep ... with no condemnation whatsoever coming from cambo of what barnett has been up to, it's just the same as being his defender and/or advocate by default.
As far as I know, nobody on here as accused you of anything, it was always directed toward barnett, and so please clarify your position.

And so, I'll ask a very simple question cambo, is barnett a trustworthy individual??
