PSP off season shenanigans!

Got to love Jerry, straight up killer too! On the gun sponsorship front, it's not really any different to what the paint suppliers pay for the privilege of being there. No the smallest companies won't pay it but then they won't be supplying team guns to the locked divisions or having a booth/tech support on site anyway!
Yes
It works for the MS so why not the PSP, the guys shooting BLs/Alien etc. In divisional teams don't care.

The difference seems to be that the PSP are discussing rolling this out for all divisions, not just the upper locked divisions... Or so the rumours say.

On the TBD front, it sounds like it might not actually be Munoz, from a bit of instagram/pbnation researching. Regardless, it will be interesting to see who they add to the team, as they currently only have 6 players rostered for Dallas.

You're probably right but it's how this affects the mid-size (and I use this term broadly) companies like HK (okay, HK are probably big enough to be able to fork out), Virtue, Alien, MacDev, CCM (for the pump div), and the clothing companies like StyleSupply etc. Whatever happens, it's going to be interesting to see what impact this has, if they decide to roll it out in some degree.

I doubt this will spread beyond the gun sponsorship, HK have ANS behind them anyway, McDev pay the MS fee already and the trade area would look like a dessert without the smaller vendors, so I doubt that PSP will be charging them extra on top of the pitch fees. Can you imagine a case where a player is told to remove his goggle strap because Leaf didn't pay to put Km on the approved equipment list, or his shoes because Nike hasn't coughed up?

One thing I will say is after reading that thread, it's nice to see how much more polite an environment p8nt is. If you decide to read through the PBN thread, be prepared to trawl through a massive b****-fest of people moaning about the mods.

Anyway, I completely agree that it would be bonkers, but it has been made to sound like it would be an all-inclusive policy, not just guns. I seriously doubt they'll do it anyway, as the example you provided is a prime case for how ridiculous it would be to enforce. Team numbers aren't huge for Dallas though (~110 teams) compared to what they've had before and with all this chat about Dye suffering, you can't help but wonder about the future of the PSP.

It's a total f-fest in that thread. I may have contributed a bit to it, but only a hilarious photo about the PSP PR guy.

It's pretty clear they need to balance out the budget now that DYE is most likely not giving them any or as much funding.

Macdev currently is not a sponsor with the PSP so they'd have to pay, unless, through the Virtue agreement that lets them in.

The Millennium folks got it right with leaving the gun sponsorship to the locked divisions, no need to make the folks paying for 1 or 2 events at the lower divisions pay for a top end gun if they don't need it, or a certain brand if they'd like to use something else.

The downside will be if the smaller companies aren't given a space at the event and instead have to shell our a sponsorship package, plus a tent space, plus all the other goodies.

As I understand it Dave's shareholding of the PSP and ownership of PBA are entirely separate from Dye Precision and his personal property holdings and whatever financial malaise they may be in and are not mentioned in the court/bank papers ad a lien against Dye's debts. However, should Dye go 'pop' then the PSP will loose one of it's larger sponsors, as will the webcast.

As we all know, 'Mericans' are stupid (present company excused) and any thread on PBN (or any of the US based Facebook groups) just descends into a clusterfest of name calling, stupidity and pointless memes! One has to sift the news and informed opinion from this like dredging for scallops.

I really can't see PSP extending it to all equipment across all divisions*, that would be just bad business sense and impossible to police, after all, how could a field ultimate be expected to deduce if a player had bought his socks from Target, Wallmart or Dicks? Hoe would the PSP survive if it shut out all the smaller companies/vendors. World Cup especially would look desolate!

I was effected by the decisions they made in 2012 regarding media access and the tenfold increase in fees associated, Fortunately through connections I still managed to get the access I required at Cup in '12 and '13. I understood some of the logic behind the move, but thought the application too draconian and discovered it was weighed in the favour of PBA and certainly reduced the coverage of teams and players on the Divisional fields by imposing a levy on team deals that most simply could not afford!

Back to Dye, the official line seems to be that they are "just changing banks" and there is nothing to worry about!

*Disclaimer

I've been proved wrong before, I very much expect I will be again at some point in the future

Sounds about right! Back on to the topic of teams, it was indeed Munoz playing with TBD this weekend and it looks like he's on the team from his facebook posts!
