Thank you Liam you have just reminded me why I do not do air ball. This will not be going ahead on this site. It will purely be a customer only site.
Seems a shame for the guy who was going to pay to use the land and supply the bunkers for you too. Good luck with the venture :)

Stay away from the speedball guys buddy as they make you **** all and expect a lot ,

However as far as Edinburgh goes I would decide how much money you want to lose and set fire to it the first day onsite and save yourself a whole heap of heartache...I hope you succeed in your venture but knowing the industry round here...I wouldn't bother.

It would be a massive shame if we can't work something out, speedball wise. There are several teams in the area who would love to make use of such a facility if it was to exist. I know my team would happily pay our dues and assist in anyway that was necessary. I work just along the road (literally, the same road!) in REY so to have such an accessible site that we could regularly train at, really wouldn't be something that we would want to pass up. I've got my fingers crossed you'll change your mind and if you do, please don't hesitate to contact me if you're looking for people to help out with anything.

It always seems to be the players that want everything for free that get on the nerves of operators. Spoiling it for the rest and thinking they have won some sort of victory with smug comments.
The idea behind the airball field and club was that they get to train run local tourneys and scrims. Charge what they feel is right and pay a small green fee. If you own the field and run these yourself you make the money. Nobody mentioned £15 or hire fees and the amount of cash needed to level seed light net and post the area and have it sat idle most of the time isnt viable for us to do in a punter oriented site.

Well if my questions about what a normal customer is going to have to pay is 'spoiling it' then there's a bit of a problem. I would have zero interest in throwing my money in to buying an airball field, so is it ridiculous to ask if i'm going to be charged £5, £10, £20 or whatever? As for 'want everything for free', why should these guys (whoever they are) invest THEIR money in buying a field, generate YOUR income and still be charged for it? I want nothing for free, i'm merely asking what privelege (e.g.free use of the land for the owners) these mystery guys get for generating the income for this field? If you want to still charge the field owners a green fee that makes no difference to me, I just want to know the end cost for me as a customer to use it.

The answer to your question is in the quote. They get to run what they like with their own field as a small business on a site ready made for them to use for a fee.

They wouldnt be generating our income rather generating their own and paying a rent for land used ( without a contract tied to monthly paments).

These "mystery" people as you put it already have a field and have approched us to discuss terms. Believe us or not it really isn't important to us.

What a normal customer would pay would be up to the field owners, club members to determine.

If you aren't interested in the club aspect of the site then what they get as privileges shouldn't interest you either but if the club set a green fee of £15 for an event then the what do they get out of it question is answered MONEY!.

I really can't see what is so hard to understand. Like any other business in the world we have costs to cover as previously explained. Fresh air is free but compressed air is not neither is a staff member insurance and wear and tear on equipment.

Liam do me a favour and if you don't like it just shut up and don't come. Your making mountains out of nothing. This is the way I am setting it up, If you do not like it use another site, play with traffic, take up parachute jumping with out the parachute, deep sea diving with out the air supply or playing with buses. But stop coming on here and spamming up the thread with pure crap as that is what it is now.

People with their own field think this is a great idea, so they will be using the site once it is set up and the grass is grown etc. In the mean time we will try and set something up they can use in the mean time.

Also you ask for an end price when in an earlier post you said you would not be using the site. The end price has not been decided as the Mystery person (only because he has not said we can use his name and he can come on here and say who he is, if he wants) has approached us for running events with the teams he plays/ trains. If he wants to allow other players to use the field and set up a club and charge towards use of his field that is up to him how much he charges (with in reason and not taking the p**s) As this will not be for making profit but for investing in his running costs and towards team funds. As for his air ball fields making us money ? No that would be the land and what we provide making us money. If no one used it and came with their own fields it will simply be turned into a game field for customers to use.

All I am interested in is x numbers of players x green fees = x amount.

haha no worries, if trying to get a straight up answer about pricing for a normal customer results in a response like that then safe to say i can count myself out from here. Seems a bit strange to go to the effort of essentially advertising this new site when Joe Bloggs can't figure out who can use this, when and for how much.

Oh just to clarify, i never once said i was not going to attend. I said i would not be buying a field, so in my last posts I've been trying to get an answer on what it would mean to me as a normal customer, to use this place. But even this seems an impossibility so i think it's best we leave this discussion here.

We as a site didnt say we were going to run any airball for normal customer use. post 5 in the thread already stated our intention to set an area aside for someone else to run an air field!

You stated you weren't interested in that and instead questioned the business plan that we really don't need to explain to you in any length. If a field was to be set up by a third party they would set a price point which was also stated earlier in the thread!

The "mystery" person you obviously don't believe in was in negotiation with us regarding use of the land and asked us not to name him publicly to avoid being pestered by ballers for prices etc before anything was agreed between us and himself. This may still go ahead dependant on the outcome of further discussions but may result in a closed field for his teams to train on.

A final price cannot be given as we aren't setting one and a price for general public use probably wont be set at all.

Just to be clear I have re read the thread concentrating on your posts and can only find one question about final user costs in post 39. But this wasn't phrased as a question more a demand "I just want to turn up and pay £15".
