Well considering the bunkers won't even be available unless those that want to use the place chip in for them, and you still get charged nearly a tenner every time, think i'll pass on that.
I agree with Liam.

If you talk about a possible air field then you basically are saying you plan to buy an air field and let teams use it. Not the players supply a field and then get charged to set it up clean it and pack it away. It sounds like your trying to maximise profit. Land hire then club membership? Im sorry but there is fields out there that i know if i had an airfield would be happy to host it, clean it and set it up. Simply a green fee. Not hire land and the pay club fees.

If im mistaken fair enough. But this is what i understand it as.

Ok sorry been away a few days starting to move items and get things arriving for the site to start setting it up.

As for charging for you to use the site and not providing the airball field, I have a couple of points on this for you.

My site if you are a walk on or normal player has to cover you for insurance, if my compressor blew up and injured someone like Liam when he was using it, would he just go hey ho or would he sue me for injury and expect my insurance he expects for free to cover it ?

If you visited the field would you bring diesel for the compressor and service it ? Or would this just be provided for free as you put it ? And for the site to cover any costs if airball players damaged anything.

I had a chat with a guy this week about teams training on the site and him bringing his own bunkers and running it for his teams., Which is great as he offered to help out in a few ways. Which would mean he and his players who helped got looked after.

But seeing that the likes of levelling an area and grassing it and posting it runs into 4 figures I am not going to do this for the good of my health.
Other sites may have made as people have said false promises. Or they may realise that running airball is not a way to make money fast and that punters will pull in 5 x 6 times the profit an airball player will,

I personally would not waste time on cleaning bunkers, setting them up, repairing them etc etc and nor would I pay someone to do so as to me it is not what I am looking at for making profit.

A club that owns it's own field like the one who contacted me this week, will have 10 plus members who can set up and pull down a field in next to no time. Which makes it less of a ball ache, they can even once the area is set up and ready look at hiring a container from somewhere to store the field on site if they wanted. I really am flexible on this and can work with people like this guy who phoned me and had a good chat. People help the site I help them, if you expect me to pay for everything and run it all, then sorry I am a punter site and that is where my time will be spent.

Also I never mentioned that you need to hire the land and then pay a green fee, you would simply pay a fee to use the site ie £7.50 per player. As I also discussed very briefly with the guy I spoke with and at moment will not name as it was a private call, if players use the site and help the site they will find that they are looked after as well. Both sides need to help for it to work and as we discussed there are further things that can be run and planned in the future. But for now it is about getting set up and running :)

Hi just an update on this site, the transport company for our new compressor and generator room has let us down on delivery so we are delaying the walk on. The new delivery date is the 25th Nov 2013.

The air ball field should have work started on it next week, as in it getting levelled by a digger and out lined ready for posts etc to be dropped into the ground when they arrive around the 25th Nov as well. The area will need to be seeded and the grass to grow. But hopefully it should all be ready for late spring next year.

I think the balance of interests for customer and business are not being balanced here. Without somebody supplying the actual equipment needed to train, what you are supplying is an empty field, which is of no use to anybody. Now I couldn't care less about who owns the bunkers, but i want to turn up, pay my £15 or whatever and have a facility to use. If people all want to chip in £3k for a field to then rent to people (and therefore maintain and clean them) then that's their prerogative, but what i want to know is if I can turn up on weekends, pay my money and play? even if you plan on splitting it £7.50 to yourself and £7.50 to the guys who own the bunkers?

The reason for asking if you're providing the use of the land for free is for whoever ultimately provides the bunkers because they are generating your income. Personally as an end consumer I'm not expecting any sort of handout, but I wouldnt be happy about investing my own money in purchasing a field, maintaining it, generating the site owner's income, and still being charged to use it. But i won't be buying a field so this doesn't interest me :)

Thank you Liam you have just reminded me why I do not do air ball. This will not be going ahead on this site. It will purely be a customer only site.
