Paintball is not a cheap activity but neither is golf. I don't know how much a good set of golf sticks is but some of the guys in works spend hundreds on a single one of them.

Have a browse of the classifieds, it would surprise you what you can pick up. I recently got a cracking deal on a PM7, all the modes I need, shoots like a dream, seller even threw in some nice spare bits for it too. £80 posted and I'd take it on any tourney field any day of the week.
neither is cheap! I play both:(

irons £300-700 for decent sets, woods £80-150 each, driver £150-300 for a decent one, putter £70-150, wedges £80-150 each and then any other clothing, bags, balls etc etc.

Wel thanks to everyone, But managed to persuade the misses to let me get a brand new Etha! :D just got to source a hopper and a tank.

I've bin told to look out for a halo hopper. This true?
a gravity fed hopper could cost you the same as a second hand electric hopper. The halo Too for example (as you mention)..picked mine up for £20 and the mrs for £30. A bit of a pain with settings but exceptional value for money at that price. More than good enough for your needs. If your only running a mid range marker then its brilliant (mini, etha, etek etc).

With the Etha you are going to want to skip the gravity hopper, and the halo too is a top buy
It's one if the very few sound activated hoppers. It may not seem so important right now but if you ever go to a clear paint game this will guarantee you no problems

Buying second hand would have saved £50-80, which could have gone towards bottle or hopper

I only buy second hand markers from ppl I trust, I bought my nt 11 from a guy I play with a d if anything goes wrong with it he told me to give it to him and he will send it to dye and pay for it himself, so I'm all for buying second hand markers, but as for the hopper I've gone through so many hoppers, I had an eye force for 3 years and wen I bought a halo and a ball busted, it fried the board so I just went straight to a rotor and prolly will never change. I would go with nothing but a rotor even second hand one are amazing specially if u can get them any where from 60-80 quid

I don't overly mind the second hand stuff... Most of it can be cleaned up to look good enough! Its more just the price of brand new stuff, Though thank GOD for this place! Great Advice, Awesome Set of members & very active Classifieds section! Really Happy with this forum (even though i didn't seem it originally) LOL
