Dye markers are amazing 'when' they work.
Many a time i've seen people using a DM12 or NT11 etc. be in the safe area trying to get their markers working.
When they do work though they are AMAZING, and for that price really good, but i wouldn't suggest them as your first marker unless you or someone you know uses/used them and know what they are like/how to fix them.

Eclipse, anyone with half a brain cell can use and maintain.

All Eclipse markers are easy to service and work through near enough anything.
Eclipse markers work well, and are set to your budget.

Etha/Etek if you want a cheaper marker that performs well for the price.
OR
Ego/Geo if you want to spend the extra to get a Amazing marker.

Trust me if you go Eclipse you won't regret it.

One advantage I could think of for Eclipse is also the fact they have an OLED board in them... YOu have to but a seperate kit from Virtue to have an OLED on the DM series. Unfortunately, we are sat counting blinking lights...
Loved all the Ego's/Etek's i've owned and they have worked well everytime.
Very simple markers to maintain and the LCD, (NOTE It's a LCD board on a Ego/Geo NOT OLED), board on the Ego's/Geo's is really simple and won't let you down.
The LED, (Flashy lights.), boards on the Etek's/Etha's works well aswell and easy to set up with the colour manual in hand!
Any questions feel free to PM me buddy.

All the best, whichever way you decide to go.
Hope this Helps.

Haha, definitely agree with the comment on 'when' Dye markers work  They are a sensitive bunch, and it tend to be people rage-sell them because they are annoyed because they are ever so slightly off-maintenance with them
As Jim Jam says, anyone can shoot a PE, they are really reliable :)

Yeah! I first shot mine and it was crazy, all over the place, I was really confused! Turned out I put on slightly too much PE grease on the O-rings xD Wiped it down, reapplied the thinnest sheet I could and it was fine  Need to invest in some monkeypoo, heard the stuff works wonders!

For your 1st marker i would say go for a new one as you'll get all the spare parts tools and case and so on
there is nothing worse than being new to paintball and spending all you time in the safe area trying to get marker working
and i would say 1st get a good Mask 1st ,Marker 2nd

Thanks for this Ravin, I have decided on getting a new/near new marker !

Am currently enquiring about Samurai's EGO 11 .

Would it be worth a chat with stoney about the deals on EGO 11 ?

Thanks again for putting up with all my questions mate!

Ego 11 best Ego i have had the liberty of shooting.

I would see about that Lucky 15's one as it's going for a Great price with matching Barrel Boost kit.
£550 i believe.
Plus it would of been well maintained and i believe has everything from new?
Could find deals on the Ego but i would go second hand but it is up to you.

All the best.

Not to poo poo the thread there is a lot of sound advice, the only thing missed really is that any marker will be reliable & consistant if you look after it.
I have had, shot, used, borrowed, bought & sold most types made & they all do the same job, velocity is governed by rules so none are "more powerful" consistancy is down to regulator maintenance & quality of paint (bar a certain version of a marker you didn't mention & I don't fancy getting grief for slander so I wont either).

In my opinion buy the Brand you like the look of that you can get parts for locally & quickly. Nothing worse than a failed part you have to wait days for...
