DM12 Marker Price?

Hi Guys

Apologies for the thread, I was hoping you would be able to help me with some sound advice.

I am a bit new to the game. Just in the process of getting my kit.

I have been offered a DM 12 (orange and silver) for £450 from a friend,

- used this season approx 55K shots
- Owned from New
- No case for Marker

Am I getting a good deal on this marker at this price? or should I weigh up my options and look at alternatives?

and costs £450.

that's still a bargain price (even without the carrying case), assuming it has been well-cared for and in working condition.

DM12s are currently selling for anywhere between £550 to £700.

if this is your 1st marker i would say go with an Eclipse marker , as Dye markers need a lot of love and care................ but thats just my 2 cent

thanks for the response mate, It certainly is my first Marker, DM 12 was just because it was offered to me at the price,

How much would I be looking at for an Eclipse marker ? Any particular Series/Model you would recommend to invest in ?

Ah, not the original UltraLite, slightly disappointing there

Slim, you can get a Dye, as long as the first thing you do is sit down and learn it. As in, take the thing apart, know how it works, know what goes where, how to change the settings, how to clean the bolt etc.
I got a DM11, sat down with it, and tinkered for a good 2 days. But that was me Know the gun inside and out, so maintenece is not an issue anymore.

Must agree with Ravin, Dye Markers take a lot of care and attention. You've really gotta treat them well for them to shine in your hands. That said, the DM series is a lot more forgiving than the NT's lol.

If you like that gun, its a great start for a very decent price. If you want to go for an Eclipse, as a first marker you could go for the new Etek 4

It's looking really good, and has some features found in the GEO and EGO series. Overall, its a really decent marker.
If you wanna fork out once but well, try grab and EGO 11, they are badass And just like Ravin said, they require less maintenence.

One advantage I could think of for Eclipse is also the fact they have an OLED board in them... YOu have to but a seperate kit from Virtue to have an OLED on the DM series. Unfortunately, we are sat counting blinking lights...

I would most probably assume that a DM wouldn't be the best choice for my first marker, was just the price I was being offered the DM for which caught my attention when looking at similar prices here.

I would assume that even at £450 I would be better off investing in a marker from new ?

OLED feature indeed sounds more appealing.

In all honesty buddy, if you have the patience to get to know your gun before you start firing it, you will be fine. For that price, Its a pretty good deal mate, even without the bag and things.

However, if you really just feel like tinkering for half an hour then playing for a week, I think a Planet Eclipse would do you well.

There is the New Etek 4 that is £387 on Fat Bob's, and that is brand new. Its got an improved Sound Signature over the etek 3 (quieter) and other cool features. The OLED board is a brilliant idea, I love the idea of it. It definitely makes things easier. The Stock barrel is a Shaft 4, same as found on the EGO 11, it has the same regulator (sl3) and if I'm not mistaken it now has the same bolt, the Zick2. Basically, these stock parts are brilliant and really don't need upgrading, saving you money.
For the asking price, I think you will most definitely be happy with it.
