Well, I hoep you guys will forgive me in getting involved in problems that arn't my problem, and shouldn't be getting involved in. Although I can come across as arrogant at times, i think I just can't accept the fact that Tiny would do such a thing. Maybe that's just me, but I still felt like backing the guy up. Maybe i shouldn't of eh?
The problem is m8, that its always the people we dont think would do such a thing, that normally does, lets be honest if a person was a complete assh***e then they wouldn't have any friends and no one would trust them and they wouldn't get chance to scam, or thief.

Just a heads up, best to stay well out of it, i dont know the chap or want to, or the situation, but at very least its just bad sportsmanship to not even bother to keep the buyer updated, he found a comp to sell the marker, i'm dam sure he could of found a way to post a message to keep the buyer updated or get a phone number and ring the guy.

In this day and age access to comps or the interweb is everywhere, i mean 99% of the phones out today have got basic internet use and as said i'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot, breakwell being the buyer, a way to access the net would have been found to post about the marker not turning up.

if you believe it or not, at very least he is guilty of not doing the decent thing and letting mark know what was happening and worst, just set out to steal the money, because at the end of the day, its not a lot different than just walking up to the chap and stealing his wallet.

This might be going a bit off topic, but this is a thread about posting stuff so I thought I would add this in.

Ive been pretty active on eBay recently, and have bought and sold a number of items.
Here is the some notable issues with posting delays:

Shirt, bought, paid and posted 21st Dec, still nothing.
Koass Pad, sold, posted 31st Dec, only just been delivered 11th Jan
Delay FX Pedal sold, posted 29th Dec, delivered 9th Jan
SSD Driive, Sold, Posted 29th Dec, delivered 7th Jan

Things are taking a long time to ship still. For people making deals at present, if YOU dont want to stump up the extra cash for a proper courier, or indeed a fully insured next day guaranteed service, please make your buyer aware and ask them to agree to a shipping method and both parties understand the implications of that method.

I feel utterly responsible for an item until it is safe in the buyers hands, eBay or elsewhere. Guess its part of an honest upbringing. I like to know now only that the person received said item, but they are happy with the condition and functionality, and in the case of a marker, will offer tech support for stuff like firing modes, maintanence.
Guess thats all just common senses but it seems to be lost on people.

FWIW, I would welcome a mandatory minimum posting requirement for traders of RM Recorded. Its 64p on top to have an item number so that you can check that its been delivered or attempted (and left a card) and has £36 compensation as standard. If you are sending something worth more than £36 its your responsibility to at least make the buyer aware of this, and come to a mutual agreement on a shipping method which covers both your asses.

At the end of the day people will buy a £1000 worth of gun and quibble over an extra tenner. Is it really worth it?

Good post Basktm !

Lovetone: thanks for the heads up on postal delays mate; I think we're all pretty much aware of the problems associated with sending anything over the Xmas period but it was breakwell's reluctance to take responsibility for anything here ... his attitude absolutely stunk and as time went on, more and more people began to climb out of the woodwork and let us know what he was like ...... I don't suffer fools gladly as you probably know and one of the recurring problems I have is that I just can't believe people like breakwell are soo stupid as to not be able to to work out the best thing to do .... as you say, it's commonsense but seemingly out of reach for breakwell.
I suppose I feel sorry for his parents [as long as they aren't like him] because it's gonna be a huge wake up call for them when the sh!t hits the breakwell fan ....

The other thing that gets my goat is the sheer arrogance of its only £120
Yeah to me and many other others £120 isnt the end of the world, but for some poor bugger thats their first step on the ladder ( Ive sold a few markers at similar prices, typically RM special insured to £500). without the gun they lose their ability to play, not simply "just £120", which likely they saved up many a paper round to accumulate...

Obviously its up to the buyer to try and protect themselves, and this is a salient lesson to deal with reputable people, preferably Plats with feedback, or someone to vouch for them.

Im looking forward to the recollection of the story of someone knocking on the breakwell family residence's door...

i haven’t noticed any delays in post recently . Lump sent a bottle to me on the 21st december and it arrived next day on the 22nd. I have bought loads of eBay stuff and its all arrived within 3 days so personally I haven’t seen a problem so its not affecting everywhere.

More the point is to use a next day guaranteed insured service regardless, in times of good postal networks or bad...

a gentleman has just bought my marker, i shipped it yesterday with tracking number. I have just checked the tracking and it has been signed and delivered . Its my piece of mind knowing that the buyer has his marker, after all, i have his money and it stays in PayPal until the buyer has received the goods .

It cost £21 to ship a £400 marker, its worth it .

If recorded delivery wasn't agreed and it was sent standard post and it hadn't arrived and it was the first time there had been any kind of problem with him then I would have some sympathy for him, things do go missing in the post.

But for there to be a history of problems with his trades, and then the attitude that he has responded with, he's not going to win any friends.

I think that all sellers should have to offer at least recorded delivery in their sales, leaving it up to the buyer if they want to pay that little bit extra for recorded or insured.

For example I've been meaning to get round to selling a load of cocker spares on here for a while now, most will be about £2 - £5 when I do it so no one is going to want to pay for special delivery on them, but I won't send them by normal post they'll go by recorded.

Have to agree about the Recorded Del thing, it will solve any confusion their might be. i mean it is only pennies more and well worth it for both parties, but mainly to protect the seller

Even if you send standard, you get proof of postage as a absolute bare minimum.
