PSP make massive changes!!!

Bunker changes are good, although I've never found it to be a problem. Despite being 6'4 and less than a skinny guy as Robbo commented on at Campaign when I met him this year, I usually end up being behind the smallest bunker on the field. Although.....I am playing at the back or occasionally mid-field on not trying to crawl down the snake where I'd most certainly get my arse shot off.

If you are a "larger than life" player, you learn how to play each bunker dependant on your personal shape. I've seen some pretty big guys (and I mean ENORMOUS) playing behind small or "non-large person friendly" bunkers before and they play their quite happily.

Larger bunkers change the dynamic of the field and the way people play.

No side line coaching is fantastic. I've tried it and don't like it. It should be you and your team on the field. Mano (or womano) y mano. Not you and several people on the side screaming where everyone is.

No field plans in advance is a nice idea. It will come down more to skill again.

i dislike this alot , the amount of work that will have to go into making the fields 10foot wider is unparamount, and more bunkers needed , thus more exspense for the fields.
i cant see how this is going to make it cheaper to play ?! why not cut the entry price slightly instead? the worst thing i find is the field releasing! practising and training on a field before the event is needed , i think making this for everyone is wrong and maybe if people cannot afford it why not give the m5/ div 2 field a different layout ? my 2p

well i think its safe to say some of us agree to disagree.

but please remember this is only the PSP and not MS. (yet)
and i was never stating that bigger players "shouldnt" be allowed to be thats just stupid.
i guess it would be easier to understand if they had said. all bunkers will be increased by 20% for example to give people an idea.

and again im not saying bigger people are crap at paintball. ive had my ass handed to me by bigger and older men - ( why does that sound so wrong!!!)

i dont want this debate to turn in to an Xball v 7man thread there is already one of them!!

everyone has their on views on the PSP's changes
mine are
bunker size increase - guess it will be a wait and see thing, i personally done see the need.
field lenght increase - again see the point. dont see the need.
no pit side coaching - would make a different game and would be interesting to watch.
no field release till event. - i can see this being a good thing, to an extent. i guess there will be alot of planning and game play making in the hotel rooms before the event.

but we cant say anything untill the MS say what their doing.

one thing that i wonder is this:

how many sites such as bricketwood or the cpps ground could accomodate the extra field sizes if the MS was to adopt these layouts?! Bricketwood definately would have trouble in my eyes!

Obviously there is a lot more to a training ground than a massive feild, and lots can still be practiced etc, however the step from 5man fields to xball was noticable, especially if you still have to train on a 5man field to then play on a full ms size one!

To be honest i like this because you can have fun it will and make you become aware of what is going on around you.

I also think that the psp is trying to make games more fun with bigger layouts :)

this shall be intresting season :)

Wouldn't be a huge issue as the focus is no longer on "playing the exact field" but instead concentrating on developing skills.

B-Dub could convert the two astro fields into one "regulation" field and another field with bunkers set up more to accommodate drills (I often find that an official layout is quite difficult to practise snapping etc on with more than a couple of pairs at a time, due to it's "playable" layout), removing the need for a specific layout means that snakes/D-wires can be quickly put together for domination drills, and the middle can be set up for snapping/1-on-1's.
