Lenses are tested to 300fps and made of different plastic than pots.
Plus the way Liam dives about his pot would have take a few beatings in the past and probably weakened them.
Same thing happened to me on august walk-on.
But a pot is not a safety item. So doesn't needed to be tested to as strict safety standard.
This was the result of a close range mugging. We've all seen broken pots but I've not seen one with a clean hole straight through it!it took me nearly 4 pots of direct hits to go through an i4 lense at 300fps. made me feel safer about what i put over my eyes although most of the gogs have a vent above your eyes so if you where unlucky you could still end up ant mcpartlin.
it was also no more than 2 foot from lense to barrel, on a crappy old lense.
Across the field? Baring in mind that a paintball loses a ton of velocity even after 10 meters, so this guy must have been shooting at a seriously high fps, or the lens was cracked slightly before hand, or you are embellishing this story somewhatone of my team mates had his brand new i4 lens crack straight down the middle from one hit across the field
well its a first for you and butty, but I've seen this happen often enough on site with guns only being run around 250-270fps. its one of those random things that happens like the shot that didn't hurt leaving a bruise the size of a melon. This was the result of a close range mugging.
