Site equipment will be covered up to the point that whatever your using thats owned by them changes to your equipment.

In other words, the sites insurance will covered everything upto the end of the air hose. The air line splits and kills someone while your filling, fine, its their problem.

The air bottle attached to the end of that hose that belongs to you is NOT covered by the site insurance, so your bottle cracks and kills someone, your liable. Ill bet you also, any liability insurance you have most certainly WILL NOT cover an accident like that. they will say "wheres your qualificaion to say you can handle HPA"

At the end of the day, if your complaining about £15 when playing paintball your in the wrong sport.

I also believe, Steve also makes no profit on this insurance, it is a deal passed on through him, by an underwriter who has specifically put together this deal to cover uk paintballers.

I will support the scheme by paying for the insurance (not that we have any choice to be honest, if we want to continue playing at the CPPS) but I do have concerns. There are policy documents which state what you are entitled for (if god forbid anything happened), however there is no mention of when you are insured and when you are not. What situations would make the insurance invalid? People talk about explosions if bottles are cracked - however are you insured if equipment is faulty (since there is no mention of it)? How do you make a claim if you need to make one? Is it through UKPSF or directly to Manson Insurance brokers limited?

Also I really hope not to have the fiasco that happened last year with the Insurance cards:

From 4 people that needed to renew/buy new insurance cards
2 of us had to wait 2 months for the cards to arrive when we were told 2 weeks
1 of us had their name mispelt (badly)
1 of us was sent a card which had already expired.

Fair enough things were eventually sorted, but considering that this is compulsory at sanctioned events this did not appear professional and as a team we didn't have confidence in the scheme. I hope they have sorted out whatever problems they were having to cause these issues.

Please do not misinterpret my post as being against the scheme it's just I'm a little sceptical at the moment due to past issues.

I have always been told that you are covered from the moment you leave your house on the way to an event to the moment you get home from that event.

The cards are now done on a 2 weekly basis so there should be no long waits,my renewal came in 3 days this time.

Unfortunately Gassy if this isn't in an official document then that statement isn't legally binding. I do support the scheme but I do think that since this insurance is compulsory then an official document with all terms and conditions would be appreciated stating as much information as possible.

OK guys, I am at Campaign Cup, can I please ask that you give me until Monday to clarify and respond.

We will make sure that we address your concerns and issues but we need some time to digest this.

ok my thoughts on the subject, quite simply, not a fan.
the fact cpps never made the insurance compulsary was a big plus when starting tournament paintball.
the full cover has never been made clear to me neither has the point of contact. the fact that my work insurance includes all extreme sports injuries means i dont need any other personal insurance.

i would like to see MsHell's points clarified, and i would like to know what would void the cover.

i would also like to know why cpps has only now decided to make insurance compulsary, and in the middle of the season? seems quite random. it might seem insignificant to most and you can argue lack of commitment all you want, but at the end of the day i run my team for fun, not for a proffesion, so some of my fringe players will not pay the money, and our team are attending a charity event on the same day as the next event so bringing in a guest player that has no real interest in long term tournament paintball and making them pay an extra £15 just isn't gonna work.
furthermore to that point, is this insurance only required for the sunday of the event? or will it be needed for training at the cpps site? and what about the funball 5's?

also, there are alot of comments (not just on this forum before you all go checking for quote's, but from friends over a beer or on facebook) suggesting that the insurance is such a great idea and how they will sign up now it is compulsary, if it's that great, why have people waited untill it's compulsary to sign up?

i would have liked the opportunity to discuss these issues and to clarify points in person rather than it be over a forum, i dont check the forum's on a regular basis, only to register my team for the next event so i would not have even known until one of my juniors asked me what it was. as a team captain i feel i should have been told first so i can answer the questions of my younger players (i really wouldnt have been happy if he hadn't noticed and we turned up on tourny day and told to fork out more money).
also will there be a way of buying insurance on event day or is it only available on the internet?

i think it would make far more sense to start making it compulsary from the start of next season, that way we wont have a renewal date possibly the same week as an event and have the potential problem MsHell had, and all concerns can be cleared up. its only 2 events after all.

to clarify:
me and my team FULLY SUPPORT rich harris, bop and cpps.
we do NOT like or support paying insurance AT THIS TIME, subject to clarification of the above.
we WILL pay for the insurance as we want to continue to be a part of the fantastic event that is cpps.
