at the end of the day i run my team for fun, not for a proffesion, so some of my fringe players will not pay the money, and our team are attending a charity event on the same day as the next event so bringing in a guest player that has no real interest in long term tournament paintball and making them pay an extra £15 just isn't gonna work.
Just to expand on this point. I have no position on this membership thing as yet because i have not played for 2 years and it was just being introduced as i stopped playing.

However for someone who perhaps only has the chance to play in an event 1 or 2 times a year, such as myself at present, is there a chance that some sort of one-off system be introduced, such as a pay on the day type thing or just a small online payment that produces a membership code valid for the event only?

Obviously i have no idea on the feasibility of such things but it seems crazy for someone to have to pay £15 when they are only gonna play once. I'm also no genius so i'm not sure if something like this would affect someone's entitlement to the amount of compensation they receive.

I cannot get my head round the fact people are arguing over the equivalent price of 2 bags of decent paint to get insured for what is a dangerous sport.

Couldn't agree more mate for £15 to know I'm covered from paying out a fortune if my bottle blows and hurts somone, you would think from the comments that it was hundreds.
i wonder, are you actually reading the comments and looking at the points raised or are u just seeing something negative and jumping on it?

exactly my point, and i dont want to have to call rich on a friday saying one of my players has dropped out and i cant get a replacement cos i cant find a player with insurance at short notice, likewise i dont want to exploit the "if someone has forgot their id they will be allowed to play but it will be noted". hence the need for clarification. i dont think it's too much to ask really, do you?

i would have liked the opportunity to discuss these issues and to clarify points in person rather than it be over a forum, i dont check the forum's on a regular basis, only to register my team for the next event so i would not have even known until one of my juniors asked me what it was. as a team captain i feel i should have been told first so i can answer the questions of my younger players (i really wouldnt have been happy if he hadn't noticed and we turned up on tourny day and told to fork out more money).
also will there be a way of buying insurance on event day or is it only available on the internet?
Wouldn't really be an issue, as you can play the next event without the insurance, you will then have until the following event to be insured before you are refused entry.

I would hazard a guess at the reason this is coming in half way through the season is due to the UKPSF now supporting the CPPS series and as with the NSPL it then means all players must be members. What I would mention, is that this year I played 1 NSPL event, and for this I duly signed up to the UKPSF to ensure I could play, although I didn't need to bother as my UKSPF ID was never once asked for.

Hopefully Rich will be able to keep on top of that situation and ensure that everyone on site is a UKSPF member, it is a good thing, it isn't expensive, but it will be unfair to the people who bother to get signed up if half the players just get away with it...

so you have picked one post i have made,I suggest you read the otherones.

I have paid my membership every year since it started so yes I do support the scheme whole heartedly and I for one hope that all those people who are stoon next to me at the fill station or watching support it aswell because if your equipment fails for any reason and I am injured then I won't be asking the site owner for their insurance details I will coming after you and if that means you lose your house or business when I sue you then so be it.

I am sure Steve can set to rest peoples questions but do not accuse me of jumping on the negative.

And just to add

I would like to see them made into photo cards and you have to sign in at an event to stop people putting any number down or just not filling the forms in at all as has happened at other events

I can pick on a few points if you prefer (such as your work covering all extreme sports injuries, is that injuries to you or me and does that include your equipment failing due to inappropriate care?)

As Gassy said im baffled that people are making a mountain out of a molehill. You need insurance incase you hurt other people, this insurance saves you being sued by the likes of me if a situation ever so arrives. For the sake of £15 for the piece of mind of knowing I wont be taking your house of you, is that not worth it?

My team has skint players (Moppy) but if came to the point where he couldnt actually afford his insurance im sure we could sort a whip round so he could play (Moppy if you read this dont get any ideas bro)

Yes I understand you want some clarification on the documentation and im sure Mr Bull will be around when he has time to point people to the relevant parts to keep people happy.
