I am a lowly person that works in IT, shoved off in an Annex 2 streets round the corner, but I'll do my best to get the contact details.

Never, ever work in media unless you are one of the "creative" people, or you don't mind being treated as a lower life form by the people you support!

The response from the 4 episodes of X-Fire shown was phenominal in for the paintball industry. After the first couple of shows, interest in paintball from the public was massive, and site bookings sored.
Don't be so negative, you bunch of loosers.
The public loved the program, and everybody in my family who watched it, because I was on it, went on to watch the following episodes, because they enjoyed it.
A simple fact that shows how well recieved the program was, is that by the 4th episode, X-Fire already had more viewers than Robot Wars did in its 3rd season.
Grow up and realize that unless you want paintball to remain a truely minority sport, you are going to need the help of big-budget, prime-time, terestrial-TV based shows like this.

Cheers

The only reason why the public love it is because it's so ludicrous! - And (I am at least) praising it for that! It's a great laugh - I'm dying to get on the next series!!, I'm quite surprised at how great the ratings are - but then again, I suppose all of my mates watch it - and if you've as many as me, then, well - you don't really need many other viewers! :p

So, you were in one of the episodes?? Has it already aired???
Also, is there anyone else on the boards who was on it, but who's episode has not been aired yet? - you know, so we can totally and utterly take the piss when we see it!! :D JK ;)

Oh yes.....I can see it now:

Robbo.....the camera starts close up, then zooms out to show him dressed up in his emulsifier protection suit.........emulsifier drawn up to his shoulder.........a serious, straight face as if he was the only hope the world had left.............que cheesy action music and slow motion action sequences of Robbo doing rolls to make it behind big toxic waste barrels and then popping up to cap the 15 grunts charging at him.....he he he :D
Ahhh dear, bring on Wednesday night!!

Ok i can see why people take the piss, even my mum laughs at it!

But without sounding like an ass licker, Jack has a good point - it will help the sport go forward. (lick, lick)

Who had seen surfing / snowboarding etc... before it was aired on TV?

The media has a great power to control people, so we should use this to make our sport bigger, and our paint cheaper.

Oh and Mission Paintball was a lot better than x-ball (my opinion)

If I remember correctly, X-Fire is the one with people wearing like police riot helmets instead of gogs?

As for how "lame" the show is, granted we would love to see tourney ball making the regular sports programs, but we're not there yet. People used to say "Any exposure is good exposure". And granted, anything that shows paintball in a safe light has got to be good. Anything that gets people down to the fields to play rec, and a few of those get hooked, and play tourney and p8ntballer.com gets more members and X-Ball takes off, and someone goes to ESPN and says look it really is taking off. It's all got to be good. But we need standards and a world governing body. If we have these, the past few years progress will look like Paintball's dark ages.

Now the sad thing is people going "Oh. You play Paintball. That's like that X-Fire show. Is that what you play?". Bleah!

However, not a day goes by when someone doesn't ask what I do. "Me? I'm a computer engineer, I'm married to the most wonderful woman in the world and I live Paintball. Do you know what Paintball is? Let me tell you..." :)

I agree, speaking of which though - I recorded CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) on Channel 5 on Sat. night and watched it last night, there was this killing at a Buddhist monastry and some paint was found smeared on one of the statues. Well, they scrape it and test it - their conclusion, hmmm.....water soluble....non toxic - Definitely paintball paint!! (Yeah, like there's no other paint you can get that is non-toxic and water soluble! Pah, whatever  ) Anyway - they go to the paintball site to pick up their suspect, now this is in LA and their all wearing sun glasses and it's a gorgeous day - all 3 CSI agents just stroll into the middle of a huuuge paintball firefight! Not a care in the world! They find their man, who promptly stops surprised, get's shot, so proceeds to take his goggles off and stroll through about 7 lines of fire to go and chat with the agents on the sidelines behind no protection  ! Jeeze! I can't believe the site let them even film that!

Anyway - X-FIRE TONIGHT AT 6PM ON CHANNEL 4!!!
Watch it people!!
