Is it just me or is there no mention of the 1-4-1 in the X-Ball rules.

As far as i can read the "only" penalty for playing on is a trip to the penalty box.

If so, why has there been given so many 1-4-1's at X-Ball ???

Kim - I can only tell you what the X-Ball commisioner told me during our games.

A playing on for example is an elimiated player plus one in the penalty box - BUT - having re-read the rules I also see NO mention of this.

The way I read things it should be the offending player only in the box. Also I have yet to see a MAJOR penalty given out for playing on - eventhough there where a lot of "obvious hits" being played with.

I think your right Goose, the offending palyer gets 2 minutes, no more than that.

But

There has been plenty of 1-4-1's given by most marshalling teams/countries.

But i just got to thinking about it last night.

You cant do that according to the rules.

Only pennalty is 2/5 minutes in the penalty box.

I have seen a few 2 minutes but never a 5 minutes.

And i have been present at most the european games this year.

I think it more a question of the reff's not being 100% familiar with the real X-Ball rules and just doing it by the mellinium rules like they are used to.

I don't blame Steve for it because he has to correct so many mistakes is mind must be all foggy end of the first half.

I think we are in a lerning period with the new rules and we have to fixt these kind of mistakes along the way.

I am talking NXL too - in out game against France we had the player who played on eliminated and one other sent to the sin-bin - if this doesn't sound like 1-4-1 I don't know what does.

Especially when I can't for the life of me find it in the rule book - all I can find is...

Playing-on: unobvious hit (Section 10.2) Minor
Playing-on: spinning (Section 12.2.1) Minor
Playing-on: advancing (Section 12.2.1) Major
Playing-on: obvious hit (Section 10.1) Major
AND

12.1.1. MINOR PENALTY 12.1.1.1. An infraction for a minor penalty will result in the player leaving the game for two (2) minutes of regulation time.

12.1.2. MAJOR PENALTY 12.1.2.1. An infraction for a major penalty will result in the player leaving the game for five (5) minutes of regulation time.
I actually do blame Steve - if he is indeed wrong (as I said I might be mistaken) -because he should know the rules and the way he got into my face saying I don't know what I was talking about (when it could be the Commish who doesn't know what he is talking about).
